As mentioned above, now I have to put it on the Phevs plus points list.

4: in an Apocalypse, a PHEV allows two different fuel sources and is not limited by extension cords. 🤓

Use electric if you have any or zombie juice, whatever you have to do.

there's a flip side to full bev's i've recently considered. with a cheap v2l (vehicle to load) adapter, an EV can power the fridge, your internet, charge your phones, etc., for DAYS. try doing that with fossil car. mine can put out 1800w/15A.

either way, if a true apocalypse happens, what car one has won't matter for long.

if there's no electricity, gas stations don't work either.

Nope, Windows makes you download it, iPad 1, Windows 0 .

Yep, won't really matter, in a few years all the refineries would run out of fuel, people would be killing each other for what's left, and cars would eventually break down, need parts. Cars also need Lead acid batteries, those would all go bad and you wouldn't be able to start any car

I have something else for track duty. How does your LC sound?🧐

I’ve powered tankless water heater, freezer, fridge, phones, iPads, air fryer, microwave, lamps, fans for day and half using the 1500w 🔌 in my fossil fuel PHEV.

The same can be achieved in a F150 powerboost. Guy did it a few years ago down in Texas in teen degree weather.

Yeah, I saw that, Alex on Autos demonstrated it last year at his house with the Powerboost

Try closer to a week. Depends on your usage, but remember there's up to 131kWh available.

Only with the engine running. It only has a 1.5kWh battery.

Wonder how long it can run with a full tank of gas + with the engine shutting off after constantly recharging the 1.5kWh battery. The guy in Texas that powered his home said he only used a few gallons of gas in 3 days. Ran it for 10-12hrs per day.

From the episode I saw, the engine came on every 30 seconds to a minute. Idling does use quite a bit of fuel, but I can see it being able to run for 3 days. Another thing to note is excessive idling is not good for the engine. Saw another video from Regular car guys where he reviewed a Ford interceptor someone bought from a police auction, it had a funny noise due to excessive idling, but that's an extreme case

Sounds like perfect combo would be one ICE and one EV.

Do you all think Phevs will loose their popularity in the future in favor of hybrids and EVs?

It’s a hybrid so the engine is not continuously running . At least that was my case.
