can we please stop comparing cars with gas engines to ev's and leave out all the virtue-signaling and veiled jabs at each platform.

yes this thread is about some questionable 'study' with a clickbait headline. if 46% of ev owners go back to ice, more power to 'em.

they'll be back.

You miss my point entirely. My point is that we do lots of things that make our trips take longer. If someone wants an EV, not buying one because you don’t want to stop for 25 minutes on a 5 hour trip is silly, it’s not that big a deal. You can also stop twice for 12 minutes each, or 3 times for less than 10 minutes each…

If you don’t want an EV, then it doesn’t matter.

My worst trip was in a Mustang GT with a 6 speed transmission I rented on Turo, my son who was 12 at the time wanted me to get a mustang. When I got into SoCal I hit traffic, and for the next two and a half hours I was going from first gear to second. I got into third only a couple of times. My legs were killing me. Than a friend told me I should have just stayed in second gear, as it has so much power I didn't need first while in traffic. I'm so over manuals, even the nostalgia of them doesn't tempt me
Man I’ve had the Prius loaded down like a uhaul box truck on trips in the past. Nowadays it’s a 2 person max tripper. Maybe 3 depending on how far we’re going. My Prius has aftermarket radio with Apple CarPlay and a 10 inch sub 😁. On the highway it’s the same as any other car on the road at highway speeds.

I know what you mean. After 1 track day I was driving back home in my truck and got a cramp in my leg from all the clutching on track.

I mean this is an EV back to gas threadBuddy of mine had a Model S. He had the battery replaced 2x in which he had to ship it to Florida I believe on his dime. He’s sworn off EVs. I told him I’m renting a Tesla in Vegas, he said he’s going to rent his own car. 🤣

Back on topic. This thread is ridiculous. I can confidently say I'm not part of that 'supposed' 46 percent

I don't care if 99% of people are going back to stinky smelly slow *** gas cars my next car will be another EV. But sure let's hear all about how amazing gas vehicles are in EV Chat that's why I come here.

Will you be getting rid of your smelly Camrys?🧐

503 miles on the roadtrip tank with 1.5 gallons remaining. Going back to EV mode soon as I get back home. 😁

There is a converse to this topic; a whole lotta people go from ICE to EV.
Different strokes for different folks, as they say...

Are there any EV only households here? It doesn’t matter your 28yr old Tercel is paid off. Anyone all in on EV only? Not asking what’s your next purchase. Asking what you currently have.

I will be once our 2013 Sienna dies. My next car purchase will be 100 percent an EV. At this point there is no EV minivan, and even if there was it would be financially irresponsible to get rid of my perfectly good Sienna that I only drive two or three times in a year.

Now lets ask a different question: Will I buy another gas car? The answer is a resounding NO

If I had the disposable income, I would have this in my driveway as a weekend car that my friend just got:
