Yeah not something you're going to be able to get anytime soon, I figure if I reserve one in the next few months I would potentially have a car more or less around the end of my 3 year lease on my car.
Air Grand Touring $139,000...almost the same price as an W223 S580 optioned how I would want. $1,000 refundable to reserve
I also went to the Valley Fair Mall to see the Lucid when I was visiting the Bay Area. The styling wasn't what I would prefer but the car itself was impressive. Its a big car for sure and anyone looking at an EQS should cross-shop this car. I would prefer the Lucid over the EQS for the power...the EQS is nowhere close in terms of performance and the EV tech that Lucid has is far superior. The drivetrain is incredibly light and efficient...not surprising given Lucid's roots.

It's not really the performance that I really care about, once your 0 to 60's exceed 4 seconds, what's the difference if it does it in 3 or 2 seconds. My most important wants...1) Range 2) Charging times 3) Comfort and 4) Size. Although I currently drive an IS350, I like bigger sized cars that have comfortable seating, both front and back.

Yeah for me I would get the Grand Touring for the big jump in range. The Touring is $30k cheaper but you lose 110 miles of range. but, at $95k the Touring is a very good competitor to the EQS with 410 miles of range and 600 hp
Lucid only has one problem, they can't produce them at scale yet. The year is almost over did they at least get the promised 520 into customers hands? I highly doubt it. Love the car especially the interior and there is a volume **** something I can't live without.

That issue will be solved if they don't run out of money. They currently have half Billion in cash and in June they reached 10,000 pre-orders, and the Air Dream is closed to pre-orders

There is a bigger difference in feel between a 3s vs. 4s car than there is between a 5s vs. 4s car. My friends P100D is only a 2.6s car and it feels utterly incredible and I can't imagine how much more powerful the Lucid Air / Plaid would feel
If I was paying that much, I'd make sure the performance was there to make me happy. The Lucid is too big for me...if they had a smaller sports sedan, that would be preferable.
Thanks for write-up. Sounds like a very impressive sedan.....except that the wheel/tire combination made me spit out my coffee LOL. Didn't know they had one displayed at Tysons. That's fairly close to my place.....I might go have a look, although I expect to maybe see one at the upcoming D.C. Auto Show in a month or so, if Lucid brings one there.
If you are not already aware of it, the Lucid Air is Motor Trend's 2022 Car of the Year. Consumer Reports also likes it, although they caution about (and I agree with them) the risks of buying from a relatively new and unproven company.
While you were at Tysons today, I wasn't that far away at Ted Brit checking out a couple of new Mavericks (static...no test-drive). They are extremely hard to get right now, and very few of them come in. I'm going to do a short write-up...not enough for a MM Review.

I'd bet after the Air sedan and Gravity SUV that a smaller sedan will be in the works

I get what you're saying, but again, doesn't make a difference to me if they can do it in 2 or 4 seconds. I'm not looking to be the fastest guy from the stop light. Although when I was on my way to SoCal, I had to show a Camry TRD who's daddy. I was driving about 75 mph on on hwy 152 on a steep incline and this guy came up behind me in a TRD riding my tail. I couldn't move to the right lane (2 lane hwy) due to slower cars and trucks, so I floored it and left him way, way behind. Can't say what speed I reached . He caught up with me 10 minutes later after the road started going downhill and I had slowed back down to 75. He than passed me, hopefully humbled

Rear seat room wasn’t great for car this size and interior design was just OK. I believe they only have 2-3 color options for inside.

There are lower cost models that start at $77K (before the EV Credits), have the same room, just not the same power and range. It looks absolutely awesome to me, I wouldn't buy the Air Dream but 1000 percent I would the Air pure if I could get it tomorrow
