Taken from a local car group, Rivian R1S in the Denver area after our snow yesterday.

Really not a fan of how it looks... To me, it kind of reminds of the Jeep Wagoneer, which I think is hideous.

So Rivian just announced a massive price hike for everyone even if they had a preorder. My previous preorder price was $81K and that same configuration is now $94K. Accessories went up in price, the 'big' pack (~300 mile range) is now a $6K increase and the quad motor is another $6K increase whereas those options were standard in the original price

Stock price is going to tank even more tomorrow...

Rivian forums are going absolutely ballistic and rightfully so.

I only put my deposit down on 10/1 of last year. I can't imagine putting a deposit down 3 years ago and getting the price jacked up on me

Similar. Our 79,8 build is probably something closer to $97 now. This is way beyond the "inflation" that they tried to peg it on in the email. Like you said, big pack, previously included, now $6K and quad motor awd now $6K, could downgrade to dual motor AWD but that slides the delivery even further out to 2024.

Wonder if Rivian will have to backtrack and try to preserve reservation pricing. They probably don't care at this point, but seems like a major stumble in terms of customer experience.

At the very least they should've kept the Launch Edition pricing the same since those guys had to put money in early, but to increase it on everyone doesn't seem like a wise decision.

A misstep for a brand that, thus far, has built up so much good will and positive sentiment about "doing it the right way"
