I think you are misinterpreting what I said. I don't see anything wrong with hoping that a plant that was previously run by morons gets a new lease on life....with a different company. History doesn't change just because we don't necessarily discuss it. And, after all, that is the thread-topic....the Rivan plant, and its first production-truck.

Nope....strongly disagree. As I told Hameed, I see nothing wrong with comparing the two. If the mods think it is out of place, they can delete it.

Anyhow, as far as the truck itself is concerned, that's a nice sharp color blue on it. They made a good choice for the initial roll-off.

Have you looked at other trucks lately?

There really was no need to lay out all that 'dirty laundry' (bold) about what mitsubishi did as the rivian team has no scandal associated with them as far as i know.

Good. Hope it stays that way. We have discussed it in other Car Chat threads, but, fine, I won't mention it in this one again.

Good to see it's not vaporware anymore!

Looking forward to seeing some on the road and trying them out.

The front design is so goofy with cartoonish headlights - not sure how any “truck guys” will like it.
I do like the design of the interior - seems to be very well integrated.

MT is getting huge $$$ to promote Rivian and Lucid, there are tons of posts on these brands on their social media. I wonder where its coming from……

This isn't for the typical truck guy, it's for the well-off overlanding crew that doesn't need RAM in big letters across the tailgate or the Tundra's aggro front grille. It's also narrower and shorter than the full size pickups anyways. I think it's going to be a hit. There's a showroom close to my home that I'm going to stop by soon. I'm interested in this given its more appropriately sized than the Hummer I preordered.

This looks to be legit well done Rivian. That curb weight though is it really 7000 pounds?

Sounds about right to me. EVs are all super heavy (Teslas generally less so)...Hummer is coming in at 9000 pounds.
