Very cool. Jeep is also installing chargers at many of the major trailheads.

I actually saw several Jeeps at Level 2 chargers last week when my dad was in the hospital, LOL at first I thought they were "Icing" but I saw they were actually plugged in. Are those fully electric or plug-in hybrids? I was always in a hurry so I never took a closer look

PHEV, EV Jeeps are coming later in the late 2024-2025 timeframe.

The Wrangler and Grand Cherokee 4xes are PHEV. What's interesting about them is that in addition to the usual "EV Mode" that most PHEVs have to start off on battery only, they have a "Reserve" mode or something like that, which essentially disables the motor. That way when you get to the trail, you have a full battery and can run all-electric until you leave.

a friend has a jeep 4xe phev. it's pretty interesting. certainly quiet and quite fast on electric mode. sounds like a 19th century sowing machine when the engine kicks in though.

you can do the same thing with the RAV4 Prime. Lock out the EV mode and save the EV mode till you get to your destination.

Exactly, which is incredibly disappointing. Maybe I shouldn't be but I am, the foundation of many governments is to berate us about climate change and how we need to pay up to fix it. But they don't "do the math" just flap their gums shoveling platitudes.

All tax no solutions.

Predictive algorithms are super cool, as time goes by Tesla will know more and more what chargers people need and when. They'll be able to use this to buy power at the best possible rates then sell them back at a higher rate. That is a money printer.

If you're into the technical side of things WeberAuto goes into detail on Tesla's 12 volt, which is really a 16 volt, low voltage battery system.

between 2019 and 2022, groups of Tesla employees privately shared via an internal messaging system sometimes highly invasive videos and images recorded by customers’ car cameras, according to interviews by Reuters with nine former employees

One of the problems with "always connected" tech. I would assume this is also a problem with Ring and other security cameras that store video and data in the cloud. I'm sure data collection can be turned off, for example I can turn off data sharing in my Polestar. Is it really turned off? I have no idea....

Yes. No more jumping ICE cars with this battery! And no more replacing the "12 volt" battery anymore.

Ring gave law enforcement people's videos without telling them lol.

From what I can gather Tesla fired the employees that did this, hence why they are former employees talking about it.
