I wonder how many EV owners here even cross shopped an ICE vehicle before getting their EV.
one right here

2018: between e350, 5 series, model 3, model s => model 3 won
2022: between model 3, 3 series, e class, a4, etron => model 3 won

while there are people who simply set their eyes on EV and only EV, at least in my area i see much stronger desire where people considering switching to ev (together with solar).

See the holes in the front? That may be where the fog lights go. If this is actually a refresh, it is probably incomplete

You could be right. I see shades of Roadster 2 if they gave it a bit more style like the R2 bumper it would look much better.

That said, when we got our Model Y in May 2022, Autopilot was terrible and would phantom brake all the time. The automatic wipers were also terrible. They didn’t work when you needed them to and didn’t respond quickly enough. The auto high beams were just as bad and would regularly high beam oncoming traffic and cars traveling in front even. And if you chose to use Autopilot, you can’t disable auto-wipers or auto high beams.

As of now though I’m happy to report numerous software updates have happened since May 2022 and in present day, Autopilot no longer phantom brakes anymore on us, the auto-wipers work just like all the rain sensor-equipped cars I had previously, and so do the auto high beams. Really happy with the progress they’ve made on those features. They work a lot more like what I’m used to and how you’d expect.
I agree with you, those issues you mentioned were exactly what I thought too. The auto high beams work better now but my auto wipers still kind of suck and I can’t remember the last time I got phantom braking. For the most part Autopilot works well and steers really well, better than my BMW. One thing I noticed that they should improve on Autopilot is the braking, it often brakes really hard that it can be jarring and my yells at me like I’m doing something wrong to the point where she tells me to turn it off. I also think they could make using Autopilot better by not having it shut off autosteer if you are trying to correct the steering, that gets frustrating having to set it over again when that happens and they should make it more like other manufacturers where it lets you override it a little but not **** off.

I do have to say a couple other areas that have been fixed is I no longer get a blank screen anymore when I leave in the morning and my memory seat and memory tilt are now fixed finally!!!!

Bumper doesn’t look great without the fog lights but the new headlights look way better IMO.

For folks that are used to luxury cars - I can’t see how they would choose Model 3 over Eclass or 5series. The interior, build quality, materials are all garbage on Tesla. For me, the seats alone make it a no go. Park bench is more comfortable.

Now if you’re are only EV specific or tech oriented or want to save $$$ on gas then i can see getting Model 3 over a 5series but even then its just a biased approach bec the 5 or Eclass will provide more luxurious driving experience.

An EV forum that includes all makes/models is enough.
