Haven't we been arguing this point for the last two years? I mean when you sign up for it, it's in bold writing that driver interaction is required. It also warn you that driver interaction is required

More than 2 years, since about when FSD was a thing. I've all but given up posting how much safer Autopilot is than a human driver some people simple don't care about data and facts in general. So currently FSD beta is used for 1 million miles per day, how many accidents have we heard about? If there was 1 accident per day that puts the system at 2x safer than a human.

Grand gesturing. Dubai don't care about carbon footprint. It's a nation built on oil. Sensationalist headline again. The order is not large, there are more orders than that even in no-name small town. The author of that article also needs to run a spell check.

Every nation is built on oil don't know why you are singling out Dubai, although it is not a nation FYI.

Not every nation. I was meant to say UAE.

Actually they do. The middle east sheikhdoms are beginning to realize that an oil based economy is not sustainable and are beginning to invest in clean energy, technology and medical device companies, like the one I work for. I spent a few days in Dubai, and a large number of cars are hybrids, including most of their taxis and Ubers. Out of three middle eastern countries I visited last year, Dubai had almost no pollution.

You can Google all this if you don't believe me

Tesla gives update on battery degradation: only 12% after 200,000 miles

Tesla has released a rare update on the battery degradation in its electric cars. The automaker claims its batteries only lose about 12% of capacity after 200,000 miles

That's excellent after 200,000 miles the average car is worn out and scrapped.

For S and X only, I would love to know about the 3 and Y.
Edit: I read the article.

By the time most people reach 200K, it's usually over 10 years. By that time you either move on, or replace the battery pack which will be much cheaper by then. I can't imagine the advancements EV's and battery tech will make in 10 years from now, so moving on to the next would be the smartest move

Old battery packs are starting to find a home in other applications like grid storage and EV conversions. Even if the battery is only at say 70% original capacity that's still more than enough energy to make it usable.

Nothing to get excited about. Even old school Toyota hybrid batteries last over 200k miles with minimal degradation.

It’s the age of batteries that’s the killer, and Tesla have not released data on that. I predict it’s going to be about the 10 year mark. So expect the first Model S to start having problems.

So basically EVs would have a high probably of being scraped after 10 years.
