The good news is that it should start coming out this year, but with a million preorders, I hope you ordered early....

Congratulations! I hope you enjoy it as much as I am enjoying mine. Not sure what car you're coming from, but there will be some adjustments in terms of ride quality (I came from an LS460 L), but I absolutely love the MYP. I wish I had made the move sooner.

I would get one too but my HOA forbids it.
They have a policy about parking things in the driveway that are unsightly and possible offensive to others.

This includes junk cars, RVs, boats, and vehicles that are ugly.

I'm not allowed any sheet metal structures in the driveway without a shed permit.
Unless I can argue it's a vehicle that doesn't violate decency standards. hahaha

Police believed Tesla fire was due to battery, turns out it was arson

A Tesla Model S was found on fire parked on the street in Spokane, Washington. The police first believed that it caught on fire by itself due to its battery, but it turns out it was arson

Electric vehicles have an unwarranted reputation for catching on fire even though there’s no evidence that they catch on fire at any higher rate than gasoline-powered cars

Harriston said the police told him electric vehicles “tend to” catch on fire. He voiced his disagreement, but they didn’t believe him until he was able to pull the Sentry Cam video from his car

The car was able to record an individual walking up to the Tesla and dousing it in gasoline before lighting on fire. Harriston shared the video with local media:

Haha, something tells me these officers don't know what a battery is never mind where it is located on a Tesla.

Tesla Has a Problem, but Demand Isn't It

What is causing the increase in inventory if demand isn't an issue?

In this video, I will talk about Tesla's (TSLA -0.36%) current problem, which isn't related to demand. It won't be solved by advertising, either. It is actually that one model is so popular, it is cannibalizing the sales of another:

Yea I'm confused too. It's like saying the RX is cannibalizing all other Lexus model sales because it is so popular.

It actually makes sense, IMO of course. I was one of those that originally was going to buy a Model 3P, and switched to a Y after the price drop, as I saw better value in the Y due to the extra space. Also a lot of Model 3 buyers may be waiting for the Project Highland refresh, which I heard from a few buyers with my own ears.

Anyway it's really not that many in inventory, about 2500 cars (world wide) which will get sold

While Tesla does have better range than most of their competitors, they also overstate its range compared to most of their competitors

Absolutely true. I don't trust their published numbers on range

Perhaps but people that buy higher end models typically dont care about value. They want the mostest and bestest that the brand has to offer. If you want a Model X and can afford it, you aint going for a Y because it provides more value.
