Perhaps but people that buy higher end models typically dont care about value. They want the mostest and bestest that the brand has to offer. If you want a Model X and can afford it, you aint going for a Y because it provides more value.
I could actually afford a Model X, but can't see myself spending over $100k on any car. Now if they dropped the price to say $70k, well that would be a different story.... but I'm also not the typical high end buyer
Looks good.
That's the one thing I feel Tesla needs bad... Good paint colors.
And no, I'm not talking about cement gray that everyone is doing but nice colors like Lexus's Obsidian Black or Pearl White and put some bling in the colors like this cherry color above.
Major improvement. IMO
Rumor: BYD-Powered Tesla Model Y Production Started In Germany
It might be the new, entry-level version for Europe
"According to the German publication Teslamag (via Electrive), Tesla has just started production of a new base version of the Model Y (RWD) at the plant in Europe (on top of the Long Range AWD and Performance versions)"
Tesla Stock Continues Rebound As Warren Buffett Praises 'Brilliant' Elon Musk
"During the annual shareholders meeting on Saturday for Berkshire Hathaway (BRKB), Warren Buffett and his business partner Charlie Munger heaped praise on Tesla CEO Elon Musk.Buffett said Musk was a "brilliant, brilliant guy," who has a way of dreaming about the future. Munger added Musk "likes taking on the impossible job and doing it."
Elon begged companies to get into the lithium business saying it was a license to print money. Not much happened and here we are, wonder if this refinery will be a copy/paste scheme like Gigafactory's.
"Tesla Giga Texas has reached the 5,000-unit weekly production rate, equating to a roughly quarter-of-a-million vehicle production capacity with the Model Y"
"Tesla’s Model Y has quickly overtaken its sibling Model 3 in becoming the automaker’s most popular vehicle model. While it quickly became not only the company’s most sought-after car but one of the most popular in the world, Tesla has tried to ramp production as much as possible to keep up with demand"
That's pretty impressive. I feel like the Y is a great size and height - works for just about any situation. My only regret is not making the move sooner than I did.

It's perfect for us. It has plenty of cargo space, and unless we need to seat 8 people, it will almost completely replace our Sienna. It doesn't need maint, and it's cheap to drive, unlike the Sienna which is costing us $70 a week in gas
