Musk was very cautious about next 12 months with uncertainty about the economy. Apparently Tesla has a hiring freeze and only he can approve any new hire. Also plans to start advertising to help spur demand.
Again EVs will continue to be an important segment but if even Tesla can’t sell at a strong enough margin then I have zero hopes for GM, Ford, Stellantis etc.

I bet you Q2 and Q3 are going to be Tesla's best quarters. That said, a down economy affects everyone, including Tesla. I bet you though 2024 is going to be good for Ford, Hyundai etc. GM is pretty incompetent, as you know it's not the first time they have almost gone under

Ye I’m not worried about Tesla - might actually be a good time to buy their stock.
The issue is they went through production hell as Musk puts it and barely survived without extra baggage of having to also manufacture ICE cars.
GM has the worst CEO and the bureaucracy there is legendary- i just can’t see how they will be able to make profitable EVs anytime soon.
Well their killing off the popular Bolt is definitely a sign. They are making a slim profit on the EUV, but they think they are better off going the truck/SUV route. Doesn't make sense to me, but again, GM should have died a long time ago
Ido think that the car would benefit by using both a combination of radar and vision but I’m not a software programmer so what do I know, it just seems that way based on theory.
I do like having parking sensors on my car since I have heard new owners saying vision doesn’t help right now with parking. I still think autopilot could be improved a bit. It’s a little jerky with the braking, more so than with other cars I’ve had. I do wish it wouldn’t shut off autosteer every time I make a small correction and I feel like it gets a little too close for comfort to the center line for my liking sometimes so I do have to correct it. I feel like I want to trust autopilot in these situations but that’s how accidents happen when you trust it too much.
Hi friend, you know more than you give yourself credit for.
The end user who who has to use the design is the ultimate judge of whether something sucks or not and nobody else- not the engineers, not the programmers, or anybody else.
If something doesn't work as expected or intended then it's a failure and back to the drawing board until it gets right.
Tesla Model Y Was The World's Best-Selling Car In Q1 2023
According to JATO data compiled for Motor1, the Model Y was the first electric car to lead global sales for a period
"For the first time, a pure electric car is at the top of global sales rankings. And it could only be a Tesla. Yes, JATO data for 53 markets worldwide, plus information for other key markets and estimates for others, indicate that the Tesla Model Y was the world's best-selling car in the first quarter of this year"
i heard they'd outsourced cybersecurity to twitter.
It's called an inside job, a disgruntled employee, which Tesla has a lot of. Every companies worst nightmare. I'm sure Tesla brought in the FBI, so whoever it is will be caught

This did not happen on US soil. FBI has no direct jurisdiction.
I highly doubt Tesla will want to play this out in court, some of the leaked documents could be damaging. The guy could just lawyer up and claim whistleblowing. I’m sure plenty of law firms will be very interested in the documents.
Buying your Tesla with gains from TSLA. That's the kind of automotive serendipity we like!
I've loaded up on TSLA over the past year or so. It's now my single largest holding.
Haven't sold a single share since buying in (and I got the first 25% of my holding at $16)
My portfolio is being held up by TSLA, AAPL and CVS Pharmacy LOL! I bought a large block in 2019, in 2021 some "super smart" investors advised everyone to immediately dump TSLA. You know, it's over valued. Thank God I ignored them!
It is ironic. Financing my Tesla with gains from Tesla
