another ludicrous headline... teslas are NOT luxury cars. your polestar is more luxurious than a model 3.

and those stats above are irrelevant.

I wouldn't use the word luxury (which is again, their headline), but I would use Premium. I'm only guessing, but they may be using Luxury because the same Luxury buyers are now flocking to Tesla. Again, just a guess

They have a "luxury" price, which I guess the survey is based on.

here you go - take a look at this, final 2022 numbers aren't out as best as I can tell, but this November industry report confirms the lead as of Q3, and it won't have changed in Q4

You and I do not define luxury, except for ourselves. The market classifies Tesla as a luxury vehicle. The numbers are what they are.

^^The only comment I can add to the above is that Tesla appears to be at the top, outselling Luxury, Premium and even economy brands/models in many important markets. Model 3 & Y will most likely be the best selling cars if they are not already. The numbers are yes, the numbers ^^

those who consider a model 3 as a luxury car must enjoy 'luxury' furniture like this:

LOL that's awesome! But truth be told, the Model 3 seats are comfortable. That chair above, well not so comfortable looking despite the price

the tesla model designs still look great and current overall and they have made refresh changes to lights, front/rear, etc., but obviously not whole new body designs.

and i think tesla can definitely do significant new things without new body designs, in particular lighting and interior. and getting rid of the god awful yoke.

and manufacturers do entirely new models to 'obsolete themselves' to stay ahead of any competition. but so far, tesla doesn't have any significant competition in u.s. at least.

and i think they have a secret weapon they've not unleashed (because they haven't had to) - price. they're making good margins to fund the growth/scaling, but if necessary, i bet they could undercut their competition.

Maybe Tesla can be like iPhone - each gen looks exactly the same with minor tweaks, most of the changes are from feature content.

I’m shocked so many ppl buy these cars due to the goofy styling and very plain bare bones interior.

Not convinced that this will be sustainable for another 5-10yrs.
I do think unit sales will increase overall as Tesla enters new markets worldwide.

People will make money on the brand regardless, I think there is some Prius factor going on. Once the people who want them have them sales will slow.

One of the most common misconceptions people don't buy Tesla's primarily because they are green they buy them for the overall experience. Power, refinement, software, charging network, freedom from the pump, constant updates. Almost no maintenance.

It's just the newest trend, nothing more. It will get old and effect sales like any other car, remember the PT cruiser?

Ya think? Maybe that's true of just about everything?
