Wonder how used car dealers like Carvana are going to handle this. Looks like they will be eating a loss on all those cars they have now that are priced way above new now.

Ouch. I've long hated Elon's pricing craziness for this very reason. Sure some folks are not happy, and justifiably so.

Their problems are the results of gross mismanagement. Just icing on their collapsing cake. A shame though, their business model if executed correctly could work really well

We picked ours up before this huge discount, and are supremely disappointed. I too would have picked up Performance Model instead, but if I could see the future, I'd be a billionaire

Yup. The coming crash for used cars is going to finish them off.

From a making lemonade out of lemons perspective, it'll be great for used car buyers. At least the ones who can pay in cash.

The Model Y Long range AWD for $53K with $7,500 makes it $12k cheaper than the best 2022 deal. I feel bad for those that bought it last year.

The price cut is crazily attractive. I'm considering placing an order for a Model Y.

How do you qualify for the $7,500 and does it apply to Model Y Performance.

Those income limits are extremely low. Basically the ppl paying for this subsidy can’t benefit in any way.

I thought it was still under the old rebate law not the new one that says car has to be made in US etc.

Well definitely makes sense to buy a Model 3 if your a recent grad and have decent job/salary.

Nope, it was completely changed for 2023 when the IRA became effective. I would only benefit from Tesla's price reduction
