Lexus electrification news

Because they are not stupid. They realised long time ago that you should never go full retard electric, unless you've got technology to make a full electric vehicle that goes a lot further and doesn't take too long to be recharged. In late 2020 to early 2021 we will be seeing a whole new line-up of electric Toyotas and Lexuses that will revolutionize the electric vehicle market.
Frankly I believe Toyota has been too conservative the past decade due to the financial crisis and the earthquake (typical japanese company excuse) and got caught with their pants down all around when it comes to powertrain innovation. No innovation on their gas engines since 2006. Barely any improvement on their hybrids asides from offering hybrids on a variety of different vehicles besides the prius, which is still good imo. they are quickly getting left behind in the luxury market, non existant in ev market, and the koreans are still coming for their main line products.
Me, i would just be happy if they would release a new V6 that had modern fuel economy and better HP

First Lexus EV soon
As posted by Lexus Enthusiast. The first EV will probably be a UX. I was hoping for a renewed NX but it may be down the road.

They hint but sounds like it will be a plug in hybrid not an EV.

One of the things that I don't totally understand on full-electrics is how they keep the insides of the motors and transmissions cool without radiators, coolant-lines, and circulation. Yes, air can circulate on the outside, but you obviously can't have any holes in the engine or transmission for cooling for air to get inside, because it would also allow moisture, water, and other things that would short out the electrics....especially driving through very heavy rain or deep puddles. I can see where this would be an especially significant issue on Teslas, because of the enormous amount of power that the relatively small electric motors produce for their size.

Why compromise when u can do both. We want performance AND frugal. Tesla does that and more. By ‘“definition” a hybrid should always be faster than an ice car alone. Toyota got side tracked with hydrogen and it blinded and slowed down their ev progress. They deserve to feel some pain a little bit as a result of that POOR decision.
