Kia EV6

BTW, in other Kia EV6 News:
Kia reports that its global vehicle sales in December increased by nearly 14 percent year-over-year to 236,874 units. In 2022, the company sold 2,903,619 vehicles, which translated into a growth of 4.6 percent year-over-year. That's a pretty positive outcome from a very challenging year.
Things are very good also in terms of electrification. The all-electric Kia EV6 noted 7,628 wholesale sales (closely related to production), including 1,237 sold in South Korea and 6,391 exported. That's 36 percent more than a year ago.
Kia reports wholesale sales (on the manufacturer level or plant sales), unaudited and on a preliminary basis.
On the other hand, the retail sales of Kia Niro EV and Kia Soul EV outside South Korea, continue to decrease, bringing the total volume down year-over-year.
Retail sales of the Niro EV and Soul EV outside of South Korea amounted to respectively 3,386 and 367 (we don't have numbers for Kia's home market).
Kia BEV sales last month:
Cumulatively, the company produced more than 112,000 EV6. Most of them (over 77,000) were exported.
Retail sales of the Kia Niro EV and Kia Soul EV outside of South Korea were down in 2022 by respectively 19 percent and 41 percent year-over-year, but overall it was a good year for Kia, as the manufacturer sold probably at least 132,000 all-electric cars, which is a 51 percent increase over 2021.
Kia BEV sales in 2022:
We are cautiously optimistic about this strategy because Kia soon will launch its all-new, E-GMP-based Kia EV9 model.

I think those numbers are fake. There's no way they sold 80k KIA EV6s.
True to some extent. The people who buy Luxury cars(older more affluent) do still care about the engine.

Nope, can't fake numbers like that. It doesn't work like that for a company like Hyundai/Kia, you can't just throw out arbitrary numbers. Publications, companies that track registrations would throw out red flags. It matches published data I've seen elsewhere, from companies that look at EV share etc

Actually proof of burden is on them. They asserted those numbers.
I for one am not going to believe everything posted on the internet. Technology has evolved to a point where its way too easy to make claims.
Belief drives peoples actions. Those same beliefs is largely a reason why we(the US) has had so many senseless wars. We're simply not investigating claims or questioning the validity of such claims.
I don't believe the EV6 is doing as well as it claims. Teslas on the other hand I believe are.

I mean I don't know what else to tell you except its one of the top selling EV's just under the Model 3, Y and Ford Mach-E. If it wasn't selling in those numbers it wouldn't be priced the way it is. A little research and it's very easy to see that those numbers are REAL

Oh please lol, do you have any idea how huge a scandal it would be if a public company like Hyundai/Kia faked their production numbers?!

Its not cost cutting, its emissions and fuel economy compliance. A turbo 4 cyl is not cheaper to make than a NA V6. And the turbo 4 cyls are more powerful than the old V6s, not less.

Sorry SW, you were probably going to disagree with me, you can PM me . Back to the EV6. I have to agree with SW and the other members who weighed in... the EV6 is very popular. Probably the 5th or 6th best selling EV in North America. There is no indication that Hyundai/Kia would fudge sales numbers. Automobile publications and other competitors would eat them alive. Also the fact that dealership markups are insane and are treating customers with a first come first serve attitude. Not something you would do if you weren't selling every vehicle you make
