You lose 50 percent range, just like the gasoline version, so you get 150 miles, which is pretty decent. But it's been stated multiple times but we seem to keep having to repeat, if you tow heavy loads regularly, this is not the the truck for you. Please guys, It really tires me when I have to constantly repeat stuff I said earlier

Nobody is asking you to like EV's. What we are asking is to have the facts straight, and I'm NOT gearing this specifically to you, but cut out the misinformation. Buying or not buying an EV is a personal choice

Has there been extensive testing of the electric F-150 pulling a heavy load? What about up hills?

Ford has done tons of testing before they released info such as range, power ratings etc and they have in many cased underestimated. You can find this info on their website. Remember, if you tow a gasoline vehicle uphill, it also consumes more gas, but an EV regenerates going down hill (what comes up must come down). In some cases I've been able to gain back as much as 15 percent going downhill in my Polestar. But again, if you tow regularly, then this is not the right truck. If I towed large loads regularly long distances than I would probably buy the TT hybrid F-150

I do have the facts straight, I will not change my lifestyle to cater to the limits of a car. I have multiple cars to do the opposite, each is well suited to what I need it to do so I have the best time possible.

This could not make it up a 5* grade over 100 miles and back at half load.

That's a major issue since the TT engines GAIN BSFC when under load and don't care about inclines nearly as much.

https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a3...-range-towing/

Here's an article on towing with the truck

I agree, it's not the right thing if you are using it regularly to tow, but for more infrequent towing (which is what most do with their F150s) it'd be fine unless you're on a long haul.

Not a major issue for most, nobody is going into buying this truck with the expectation it's their main rig for towing. Or if they are, maybe they deserve what they get for not researching, lol.

It depends on what your needs are. For many buyers, this wouldn't be a regress in lifestyle or capability or rights at all.

Ford has done extensive testing I guarantee.

Where is there a 5% grade that lasts for 100 miles?

Exactly. For regular towing of heavy loads, the F-150 Lighting is probably the wrong truck to buy. Occasional towing distance of 300 miles or less, than I would be OK with the Lightning

I'd say more like 50-75 miles would be the max for me (and I tow pretty regularly). I want to get home. But I wouldn't buy this truck to tow.

OK, yes that highway takes you to Lake Tahoe. It is pretty steep for some miles. I've driven it a few times

You are probably right, but we have a ton of superchargers, and heck, I'm adventurous. That is if I'm not really tired and want to get home. But the most I would be "towing" is stuff from Costco or Home depot
