newsflash, the 300mi. EPA range is WITH 1000lbs in the truck! He's seeing much bigger available range.

off topic but MKBHD is definitely not an Apple fanboy. He has and continues to prefer Android over iphones. It took him years to switch from windows to Mac OS.

I think I am going to go order one of these soon. The 6500lb curb weight is not far removed from my '19 Ram 1500 (6250lbs). I want to wait until at least the second model year to see what people say about charging times/range, etc, but this looks to be the closest full EV to fit my needs yet. Looking forward to whats to come.

Really think you'll enjoy the cornering w/ the battery weight being low in the frame......

Rumour mill is saying Ford is sandbagging range so they don't create the Osborne effect, stated range is speculated to be with ~2000 pounds in the bed.

Did you read Ford.com? If not, check it out....Targeted EPA range....the targeted EPA range in the Platinum top spec model is also excluded from the 230/300 miles...in other words, range is gonna suck!

All, this is where ford has the * about platinum exclusion: https://www.ford.com/trucks/f150/f150-lightning/2022/

But maybe the platinum won't suck if the overall range is better than what ford is saying. Could even be they stick a bigger battery in the platinum.

Sure. You could be right. But how much is that F150 gonna weigh?

Yeah, I can remember not long ago, when a basic no-nonsense F-150 work-truck started in the low-mid 20s....even after conversion to the aluminum structure.

A basic F150 today starts under $30k. These are EV F150s. Of course they're not going to be cheap.
