The dial on the dash in the Taycan is part of the Sport Chrono package, so it’s essentially a lap timer but it delivers some performance enhancements. You can get Sport Chrono as an option on most Porsches.

The picture showed a Turbo S interior, so 185k, before any options

I would say the cheapest Taycan interior is a big step up from the best Tesla interior.

I don’t think the minimalist interior on a Tesla photographs terribly well, and sometimes Porsche interiors tend to get a little more credit than they might otherwise deserve because the cars are so good in general. I do agree the Taycan is nicer, but reportedly the new Plaid interior is better than the old one when viewed from up close and personal. Interiors are absolutely an area where Tesla can learn from its competitors though.

I've sat in both repeatedly, I'm not going off of pictures. Obviously I havent seen the refresh S in person yet.

Thats ridiculous...why compare it to a 2 door sports car. Fine, the Porsche fails to carry 5 comfortably or why doesn't it carry my camping gear? I'm not going to compare a 4 door large sports sedan to a 2 door sports car

My point is that the two won't be cross shopped and are incomparable as they are completely different segments. The Taycan yes, the 911 no. Why can't you understand.

At that price point, they are both 130k + wealthy persons toys….I am sure people cross shop all kinds of stuff at that price point and find something they really like.

but if the Tesla S is a large family sedan, then fine…I think it’s a luxury car.

Basically looks like same car from 5+ yrs ago.

The interior looks incredibly cheap in these pics for the class. Its on Honda Accord level at best.

I honestly can’t believe the steering wheel is not a safety issue. Definitely the worst design element of the whole interior.

Tesla needs to be more innovative with the interior design- its just said to be modern/clean in disguise of plain/cheap. Zero creativity, emotion and /or design. The sad part is the mainstream automakers are actually copying this nonsense.
