Really is all relative.

I'm not kidding when I tell you my LX is in such excellent shape I would believe it if it had 30k miles on it. The most reliable truck in existence on top of it. $33,500. I live for deals. I could sell it for 40k to a dealer tomorrow.

A used boat is too big a gamble (as opposed to finding a great used car) and you can't locate one easily with the stuff you want which is why I ordered it new and bit the bullet.

If you don't stay ahead of maintenance in a boat you might seriously regret it. I have to run it a certain way for the first 20 hours to ensure proper break in, that's going to be hard. No WOT. How would I know a previous owner did that to theirs? Boat stuff gets expensive quickly.

And yes I get some of the reasons you all listed for not desiring a boat and I don't blame you if you're busy or far from the water. I'm 5-8 minutes from the nearest dock and ramp.

The feeling you get after your lake day when you get home, pure elation. Worth it.

You should try to egg it on and do a quick stoplight battle Of course i'm kidding

I use to try and egg on some crazy cars in my IS350...that car was slow so i would get smoked but it was always a treat to see a GTR or something like that take off like a bat out of hell.

The exterior differences between a Plaid and LR are so minute (even compared to the German performance options) that I wouldn't know if any of the Model S's I've seen are Plaids.

The only way to really tell is the badge on the back says Plaid in plain boring letters. Not that if would make it more noticeable but I did like the badge on the back that was actually a plaid emblem they used for the first 100 or so customers.

The LR can be optioned to have the same 21" Arachnid wheels. The same 21's are also an option on the Plaid, so not all Plaids will have them.

Other than the badge and CF spoiler there is NO visual difference.

It needs to be easily distinguishable as the top end model IMO and it currently isn't.

Yes but could you beat it around a track? I'm genuinely asking, not sure the answer... part of me wants to say "yes" but part of me says "no way" either bc Teslas are heavy, etc.

A Ferrari or any other similar spec performance car would beat it on the track.

No way... the car is really underbraked and heavy. It got 7:35 on the ring but i'm sure most Ferraris do better. I guess you could modify it with better suspension and carbon ceramic but it still weighs 5000 lbs..lol. Its like Star Tours at Disney...meant to carry you comfortably to your destination with baggage and a whole bunch of people at lightspeed.

That's what my instinct tells me. I'm not really a track guy, more of a mud and dirt off road guy so I genuinely don't really follow lap times, etc. etc.
