of course that depends on which track... at le mans for instance i may be inclined to bet on the plaid, but a track like fiorano or tsukuba probably not

Come on, you wouldn’t even get the little plaid symbol to replace the letters? I am definitely taking off the stock badge, not because I want to be stealth, just looks out of place since it’s chrome and just so plain looking.

You can order those Plaid badges everywhere...so funny. From all the videos i've seen, the first mod should be better brakes. Unfortunately, they only seem to have the carbon ceramics which are overkill for street. Wish they had a better mid-grade option. Carbon ceramics are $10k! Crazy.

Yup, pretty much indistinguishable from a distance.

No it doesn't. The adaptive air suspension on both the LR and Plaid is identical.

The tire/rim combo are exactly the same as well.

The base tire/rim spec for both cars is the
  • 19 inch ( 255/45-19 104Y XL Front / 285/40-19 107Y XL Rear) and the
  • 21 inch spec (265/35-21 101Y XL Front / 295/30-21 102Y XL Rear) is an option ($4500 USD) for both cars

Not dumb questions at all. That's what other manufacturers do, so it's a bit odd that Tesla doesn't differentiate the Model S in a similar fashion. For the previous generation, the performance models brake calipers were painted red but also had the exact same brakes as the non-performance models. The drivetrain however is another story and that is where the difference is - the stuff you can't see.

The Plaid is wider, the sheetmetal around the wheels is different, flared out slightly. The Plaid also has unique wheels that are only available on the Plaid.

Looking down the side of a regular Model S and a Plaid, there is definitely a difference.

Again, the only visual difference between the refreshed Model S LR and Plaid is the badge and the CF spoiler. Same thing with the wheels, both the LR and Plaid have the exact same options - base 19 inch and option 21 inch (as I already mentioned above in response to Paul).

The base tire/rim spec for both cars is the
  • 19 inch ( 255/45-19 104Y XL Front / 285/40-19 107Y XL Rear) and the

Check the Tesla configurator yourself. I know what I am talking about.

The wider, flared out fenders difference is between the latest refresh and the previous generation (mine). Definitely NOT between the latest LR and Plaid.

Interesting, you are obviously correct. I was just going off of what I had read in reviews when it was first released

i saw a taycan on the road yesterday. it may be smaller, slower, and more expensive, but i have no doubt that's what i'd get between the two. looks AMAZING.
