so i looked up the pricing.

base now $129.990
base wheels are 19s, if you want 21s, that's $4500
if you want anything other than white, that's $1500, or $2500 if you want red
if you want any interior other than black, that's $2000
if you want the 'full self driving package' that's $10000
so it's easy to spend well over $140K

a loaded one with say 7% sales tax will be $160K out the door.

incredible car though!

on other detail i found interesting is the website indicates that switching from the 19 to the 21 inch wheels drops the range by 40mi. from 390 to 350.

How does that compare to the competition? I tried optioning up a Taycan got past $250,000 before I got bored of adding stuff.

Maybe, or maybe as a performance car it sucks when driven hard. Have to wait and see.

Strangely enough, the price in Canada has not increased for the Plaid version. It's still just under $160K CAD

the plaid will win a drag race i presume, and is much better on range, but the interior and handling of the taycan is on another level.

What Plaid handling tests are you comparing the Porsche to?

It did great on Laguna Seca. I'm hoping they made noticeable improvements in handling. They won't be able to match interior and quality though as Porsche is a true luxury automaker. Also, they aren't really priced competitively either as one is 50% more.

$160k but I'm supposed to pay people $7500 because they've bought a Tesla? These are the people that need a $7500 tax funded discount the least.

Those are Canadian prices. Its about $130k US. It would be more helpful to limit the credit to mainstream cars (under $50K) to drive adoption. This car is a toy...like most cars in its price range. You do realize that the oil subsidy also benefits the rich with expensive supercars that get terrible gas mileage right? But lets try to not pollute this thread with your view on subsidy because thats not relevant here.

I hate the "gas savings" disclaimer. Just tell me the damn price of the car.
