i think most would consider the exterior looks of the 3 very attractive.

the interior is very plain but i give tesla some respect here, this is a solid update.

the double pane glass should reduce wind/road noise a lot.

the more functional center console is nice.

increased range is always great.

I agree, sadly the blank face front end of the Model 3 is the opposite side of the spectrum as Lexus, whereas a happy medium is needed. The Model S was perfect.

Front end looks goofy. Rest of car looks great. I don’t mind the interior but I am glad most brands have not copied it.

The inside is very different. They changed the whole center console and removed the piano black.

I wasn't clear in my response. I was referring to Jill's post about the the front looking 'goofy'. I read the press release changes

In white it doesn’t look bad.

the red image doesn’t look all that great. (IMO). Rest of the car looks good

Not 100% on board with the no detail blunt nose but looks eons better than the massive, over styled maws out there. Hi Toyota.

I actually don't think there are a ton of people out there that think the Model 3 looks great, at least not that I've met. People don't buy it for its looks lol

I think the 3 is attractive enough. It’s not pretty but it looks smart.

in addition to the center consoled they added laminated glass to the windows. Good additions that I hope will be brought to the Y

[deleted] there are other credible reasons to have an EV besides just no tailpipe-pollution. The lure of not having a radiator, coolant, fuel-tank, fuel-injectors, thermostat, water-pump, spark plugs, a conventional electrical system, engine-valves, piston-rings, a complex transmission, turbocharger, catalytic converter, muffler, and a bunch of other parts to wear, fail, go wrong, or having to service/replace is no doubt a powerful incentive, especially for people who drive mostly local short distances and have access to a charging-outlet. And, besides all that, not having engine noise or vibration.

I'm not saying that EVs are the ideal vehicles for everyone (they're not)...but I can understand at least some of the Tesla hype/cult and the lure of other EVs.

I'm still concerned about the prospects of the electrical grids becoming overloaded and failing (especially in California, where electric-grid problems are often a fact of life) when too many EV owners are all plugged in at once. A classic overload and grid-failure would accomplish what we spend so much time keep trying to prevent the terrorists and Cyber-warriors from doing.

.
But when a Tesla breaks...its far more costly to replace some of the components... I think it was Car & Driver that was left stranded at 10K and needed a whole new rear motor assembly...

Its still noisy...you hear other noises from tires and the road, wind and have to deal with more weight.....Toyota updated the Prime Plug-in and Lexus UX Electric with more sound deadening materials, double side acoustic glass, more wheel well materials...Tesla 3 did that as well for the new update.

As for them being quiet, they really aren't. There is no engine nouse, but road noise is pretty pronounced even in the Model S. Doesnt have anything to do with EVs, I think its Tesla learning how to make a quiet car, alongside learning how to build a car in general.

Mmarshall, not sure why you brought up your opinion about global warming in response to steve's comment about the Tesla 3's looks, but please keep that topic out of CL.
