Tesla Q3 2021 Earnings

When you hear "EV", what do you think of? Investors are saying, "when people say that want an EV, they mean they want a Tesla."

tesla's quarter could have been even better if they were so supply and production constrained!

The only real argument left is that they’re overvalued, but that’s only if you view them as a car company first and not a tech company.
It’s going to be interesting to see what happens when the other EV first competitors in Lucid and Rivian start to produce real volumes, but that’s more of a concern for the traditional males than for Tesla. I can’t wait for my Rivian R1S

They’ve debunked most if not all of the major arguments. The cars are profitable, the demand is there (at least for Tesla EVs), quality is improving, and their capacity is only going to increase with Giga Austin & Berlin.

Its also interesting how uninteresting the earnings call was without Elon at the helm. Someone said it was like when Tim Cook took over Apple...just polished business answers but no flair. I also think Tesla will be a profitable energy supplier business. They actually have scaled large manufacturing and now have pre-fab supercharging stations where they just plop the entire station on the site. They've identified a key business advantage and decided to shift their strategy from a Tesla only selling point to a supplier for all EVs.

Its ridiculous to call them just a car company and the street realizes this. They are an EV technology company.

what does highest selling vehicle mean? You mean best selling? I think currently that is around 1m/yr, give or take 20%.

So I bought back in at $905 But I'll have a quick hook on those shares. Brought my average cost per share up a hundred so not the end of the world. Also used some of the gains on Portillo's which is killing it and will likely buy some Rivian when they go public.
In other news, there's a rumor that Hertz agreed to buy 100K cars from Tesla and the Model 3 was the top selling car in Europe last month. Combo of both of those is fueling a ridiculous rally this morning
