I just bought mine outright. There was a gigantic incentive at the time too. I break even on the system sometime next year then the next 20 years or longer will be free.
I decided to do a lease to buy. I have an option to buy them in 5 years. As part of the project they replaced my aging electrical panel from a subsidy from the state, I just couldn't pass up $137 a month...my electric bill is more than that
Anyway, the size of the Tesla chargers, they had to be Level 2, being very compact. I've seen Tesla super chargers and they are about the same size as EA chargers
No they are definitely not L2. Tesla does not install L2 chargers anywhere other than at Tesla Service centers.
The ones you saw are the new chargers which are smaller.
There is a newer even smaller charger (max rate of charge is 72kw), but that is still in pilot.
I'm actually seeing more and more of these when I visit EA charging stations. I ran into a guy yesterday who was driving a new Mustang Mach-e, it actually wasn't his, he told me he works for a company that tests charging stations, so he drives EV's across the country going from charging station to charging station. He has driven almost everything including a Lucid Air, interestingly enough he still has driven a Polestar, he says that on the list. He has codes to get into the charging stations interface, and he was showing me actual charging speeds, although I had already gone past 80 percent so my kWh charging rate had slowed down already. He told me the Lucid has the fastest charging, followed by the Hyundai/Kia, Porsche Tycan and ID 4. He said the Mach-E hits its limit at 107kW
I discovered a bug in the latest update. Day before yesterday I pulled into my driveway to meet someone who was doing an inspection, I got out of my car leaving the AC settings as they were, on. As soon as you exit the car, the car will turn off HVAC, radio if you are using it, and anything else running like lights and then shutdown the infotainment screen. When you re-enter the car it will resume everything, When I got back in the car, I noticed AC didn't resume, so I entered the fan control and I noticed fan speed control was greyed out. I closed it and reopened the fan control and it was still greyed out. I put the car in drive but fan functions were still greyed out. So I rebooted the infotainment system, which takes a total of 30 seconds, and as it came up the AC started back up again and everything was back to normal. Infotainment system is completely separate and has nothing to do with driveability which is handled by a separate ECU (not accessible to us), if the screen fails the car is still completely driveable, you just lose functions like navigation, HVAC controls, radio etc. This is one of the downsides of putting controls in the infotainment system, but this is the approach with most modern cars as even my 2010 IS350 has the HVAC settings all in the infotainment screen. Anyway, it's only happened once, and it's a quick fix. On the Polestar forum I've only see a few people report this issue so it's not widespread, but I'm going to report it to Polestar support
At least your reboot fixed your issue. I have to take my car in next weekend to see if they can fix my memory seat issue from a software update I did a few months ago. I hope mine is fixable and I have a better experience than last time. I’ve rebooted and had about 3 -4 software updates since and nothing has worked.

Yeah, so far this has been the only issue I've run into, and since it only happened once and an infotainment system reboot fixed it I'm not going to worry about it. Hope your issue gets fixed soon. On another note, a guy in a Chrysler 200 (with the 3.6L V6) got a hard dose of reality yesterday. He was one of those impatient drivers that automatically veers around people so he can get the lane to himself at stop lights. Although I wasn't driving slow, he veered around me to the right at the stop light. I was debating with myself to just let it go..but I thought what the heck. When the light turned green I hit half throttle, leaving him way, way behind. He caught up with me pretty fast at the next red light, and this time I could see he wasn't going to let that pass. He kept false starting at the light trying to get the jump, but the thing about EV's is you don't really need to be ready. You don't have to get the perfect start, you don't have to jump ahead, you just put your foot down on the excelerator and the car does the rest. So when the light turned green he got the jump, but I just put my foot down and left him pretty far behind. BTW I never got much faster than 60 mph, and it only lasted about 30 seconds light to light. He later shot past me at high speed and didn't make eye contact after that..
On a completely different note, I'm going to be making my first long distance trip to SoCal the second week of May. It's going to be roughly 380 miles each way. I look forward to writing about the experience, both positives and negatives
how is this car different from the volvo c40 recharge?
C40 is more luxury. It's basically a luxury version of the Polestar 2. Because of some added features, it gets slightly less range. Plus it has the Volvo badging
Polestar actually did something unusual...they increased the range on the dual motor (249 to 260 miles) andlowered the price by $1000 for the 2023 models. Very un-Tesla!! They did it by making the battery pack casing lighter and more efficient, which is very Tesla. Interesting, I hope this plays out well for them! BTW, this pricing is before the $7500 Federal Rebate, and if you are in California you would get an additional $750 off plus $2,800 if this was your first EV purchase
*****Correction*****
They actually raised their pricing slightly:
Single motor variant jumps by $,2,500
Added $1,400 destination charge
Performance pack raised by $500 (but does add on additional HP)
not good looking at all. The Volvo rear is really bad.
This front end looks good.
