100% I would pay $1000 for a power upgrade. No brainer for me, it’s like a cheap mod.
Here's the 2023 Polestar 2's specs when you add the Performance Pack:
According to Polestar, the Performance upgrade in the US is still pending Federal approval for the 2021 and 2022 models. It will be offered as an OTA Upgrade once it's approved
CORRECTION:
The 476 HP Upgrade is still pending Federal approval for all US models, including the 2023. Once approved it will come as an OTA Update to those who purchased the Performance Pack. For all other models the Software upgrade will need to be purchased, rumor is $1,100
$1100 is cheap for the performance uplift you get. Not as cheap as the Sunday afternoon easy bolt-ons you get at O'Reilly's but still good value.
Nope, this ain't your Fry's Electronics Motherboard + Pentium 4 combo special. Remember Fry's? Used to be one of my favorite hangout spots...thank you very much Amazon! Many from Europe and other countries where they released the upgrade are reporting on the Polestar forum that's it's a huge improvement
Yes I remember Fry's, rest in peace. Never been apparently the stores were huge. Pentium 4 lol what a disaster that thing was. If P4 was a car what would it be.

The P4 was a horrible processor. It was huge, and it needed a heatsink and fan the size of a small building just to keep it cool...and it still overheated
The back seats just suck for any trips more than an hour so leaning towards moving on to something else when my lease is up, either P3 SUV or one of the Korean twins
Surprised to hear that your backseats suck, I don’t believe I’ve heard you say that before. My kids feel the same way about the Model S back seats and beg us to take the X7 if we go anywhere further than 45 minutes. I’ve never sat in the back so I have no clue but both of my kids feel the same way.

LOL I know exactly what you mean, I've never sat in the back myself, so I can only go by family feedback, which is brutally honest. The problem with the Polestar back seats are that they are completely straight so you can't lean back. Sitting is comfortable but after about an hour either my kin or my wife complain about neck being stiff. For commutes up to an hour it's fine, but after that they start getting stiff neck. Also suspension is slightly on the stiffer side so major road imperfections are more pronounced in the back seat.
As a daily commuter, trip to the twisties, or longer trip with only front passengers this car is perfect. The PS3 will most likely fix all those shortcomings in the P2...and add 200 more hp to the mix!
Yesterday I completed the install of an Electrify Home L2 Charger for my Polestar...and yes my wife can use it for her Ioniq. Electrician installed a dedicated 240v 50A circuit on Saturday, mounted the charger for easy access. I tested it out last night and what used to take anywhere from 5 to 10 hours now takes less than 2 hours. I can now let my charge go down to 30 or 40 percent before charging, which means less plugging in!
Here's another picture of the upcoming Polestar 3, which is said to be coming in October of this year:
Starting price will be $75K. It will be the first Polestar model built in the automakers new US facility in South Carolina. It's expected to have over 600 HP, target range will be 372 Miles on a full charge. This will be competing directly with the Porsche Cayenne. Polestar will be opening up orders in October 2022
Third vehicle and first SUV in the Polestar lineup
Earmarked for autonomous driving system development
Target range of over 372 miles
Dual motor design at launch
Production to begin in early 2023
Order books open at full premiere in October of 2022

50 amp! Damn, I really would need a 2nd electrical service to be able to handle an EV at my place. I think I'll just install this at my parents place to leech off their solar array lol!

At home level 2 is a game changer for sure!! At work I can usually get a top off when needed with the level 2's in the garage there as well. Yesterday there were 3 Polestar 2's including me charging up.

I don't think you would. My electrical setup is not much different than most people. The only difference is I had to add a second sub-panel as I was out of breakers in the main panel. If you don't have Solar, than you just plug in at night after 9PM to avoid summer peak times. This will fully charge a 75 to 78 kWh battery 0 to 90 percent in 8 hours of less. You could technically get away with sharing out with your washer/dryer circuit (Cannot use both at the same time), but you would have to drop the Amps down to 20A or 30A
