I almost pulled the trigger a few times on the older Model S too, but the price changes turned me off. The Model S performance speed was always in the back of my head. Then the Plaid came out and the price started dropping, and I decided it was time.

The problem is, in the meantime, I bought another 24k mile 430 and the Plaid didn't replace either of them. Just add to them. And I have another toy. So, something has got to give. Might be the high mileage 430. But I love her. With all my heart. And I know she loves me. And it's gonna be a tough breakup, even though I know it's the right thing to do. Pray for us.
I had the same dilemma with my IS350. I know it's not an LS430, but it was a damn good car, still in its prime, and under 80k miles. But the used car market had gone insane, and it was taking up a parking spot, so I sold it. Holding on to the 2013 Sienna, which just hit 170k because nothing really replaces a minivan, other than another minivan

i know of only one user here who is very sensitive about any criticism of tesla. elsewhere, of course there's lots.

no that's not it.

the back end in particular looks as cheap as a plain metal lunch box.

why are the lights different? in the wild I think it looks much better than in pictures.

is this any better?

That's the Light bar on the second pic, it turns on when you unlock the truck

Bob04 has two. One for backup.

And yes, LS430s are stunningly good. I've garaged the Benz and am cutting the mileage I accrue in half and just been putting miles on the LS430. It is such a satisfying and luxurious car to drive. You guide it more than you drive it. And premium fuel definitely makes a difference, it gives it considerably more oomph down low. Definitely noticeable. Not to get into it again, but this car truly needs premium.

James May of Top Gear gives his take on the Cybertruck here. He spends probably the majority of the video just talking in detail about its styling and the steer-by-wire system.

Just as an aside note, he was always my favorite member of the famous Top Gear trio of Clarkson, May, and Hammond. Of the three, I thought he generally spoke and acted like an adult more than the other two. He also used to do a nice little write-up, in each copy of the old Top Gear magazine, about various automotive systems and how they work.

Note expensive Teslas have a screen in front of the driver lol
So why did Tesla recently put a screen in the back for rear passengers in their cheapest model (the new model 3)?

Edit: Why did they also add cooled ventilated seats in the 3, and why would they add more speakers to the car as well? None of these support your claim of cost cutting being passed on as "design." Tesla actually added features to their lowest model car (everything I mentioned is standard on the base model 3) that were all previously unique to the highest level car (S).

The America bashing got old on that show, but they're just jealous deep down they don't live here. Half of their tests are in the cold, dreary rain because that's how the UK is.. terrible weather.

I'll miss TG though.

From my observation... the owners I've bumped into/met seem damn proud of it.

Holy smoke... where did you get this picture? I don't think I've seen another one like this for another brand. I have to agree though. Tesla love is real.

And I stand by that no other auto makers can match their infotainment screen, software, and the speed in which they keep it updated. If you think that's brainwashing, then I don't know what to say
I wouldn't say Tesla has faults. They just implement things differently. If you agree on removing stalks, IMO there are a lot of other similar things. Maybe what one experienced before owning a Tesla is outdated? Kind of similar like "BMW is not reliable because my brother's uncle's friend's sister in law was stranded.... 10 years ago." I'm very open minded and tech oriented but I don't think Tesla's infotainment is any better than some other brands' I've experienced. IMO, latest youtube music is the only nice feature that I think Tesla has over other brands. Take air vent for instance... How many Tesla owners actually know how to direct air? And you think the way it works is superior to traditional vent while car is in motion?
