Imagine what Elon could accomplish if he wasn't so toxic and divisive.

Great review. I'll admit this vehicle is growing on me. The engineering that went into this is mind blowing. I understand why Tesla probably didn't want to hand out RC vehicles to reviewers, they wanted everyone to see the completed product. And now I know why it took 4 years....

This is my opinion on Elon myself. Only a fool would not respect his accomplishments, I just think he's also a fairly despicable person.

Would me feeling that way keep me from buying a Tesla? No.

maybe covered in between, but i see the rwd one is showing delivery in 2025 and the other two in 2024. so no one's getting a cybertruck under 80k for at least a year, and most likey NEVER.
gee, i seem to remember predicting that about a year ago.

Some you get right some you don't. Keep in mind inflation since 2019 is at least 25%.

I'll virtually pat your the back

The early adopters are going to basically fund the lower cost Cyber Trucks, which is not unusual. I remember long lines of people paying $600 for the first iPhone when carriers were essentially giving away free phones, company execs and engineers paying $120K for a Model S or X, and many friends, co workers and acquaintances with their smartphones putting down $1000 deposits on the Model 3 when it was announced.

The other thing to note is, $39K 4 years ago is not the same as $39K today, so the pricing is about right

Twitter would disagree...

Elon is a visionary for sure, but there is a difference between being a visionary and being a great businessman.

Certainly. Nikola Tesla died penniless and alone. Elon is the worlds richest human and he's just getting started IMO. As for Twitter now X, currently it is a poor financial proposition. Currently. Tesla used to be a financial dumpster fire. BTW Twitter pre-Elon never made money.

Back to Cybertruck what makes me bullish as an investor is most of the spending for Cybertruck is already baked in.

you mean 80K. and the under 40k 'prediction' was FOUR YEARS AGO during which time materials, labor and shipping costs have probably doubled. actually yeah... 40k then, 80k now.

my lc500 is seeming cheaper by the day.

whether they're in transit or waiting parts or whatever, given that they've scaled back production plans, there's clearly too many available.

i predict ford will have a fire sale on lightnings, dropping the price 25k or so to move 'em on through.

i believe he would accomplish much less. remember, steve jobs was a total jerk, even disowning his own daughter.

Subject to test driving etc, absolutely. Remains to be seen when I might get an invitation to convert to an order, but I have no plans to cancel. Having already experienced one excellent EV truck makes me even more interested in this one, not less.

The pricing is way off adjusting for inflation.

Adjusting for inflation it should be
48k
60k
84k.

No where close to actual prices vs inflation adjusted prices from 4 years ago.

I don't think any of those things have anything to do with it or anything, which are your opinions I might add.

I love how he blew up Twitter, wish it were me.

We've truly come full circle. Went from Tesla will never made money to they are selling their cars too cheap and now, Cybertruck costs too much.

I don't know anything about trucks or truck pricing, but looking at comparable F-150 trucks in my area, the pricing is actually pretty low. The Mid-level comparable trims start at $63 for the XLT and go way past $100k for the Raptor. Tesla usually sets it's pricing on what the market can bare, and they are confident that a large percentage of those that have reservations will follow through. From following Tesla history, they haven't been wrong yet.

That said, I'm not a potential Cyber Truck buyer, so for me, I don't really care, except putting on my investor hat, I'm hoping the pricing they set attracts buyers and those who reserved the truck
