Default Edmunds Ioniq 5 vs Tesla Model Y

good review... edmunds OWNS a model Y performance (2020) and compares it to the new ioniq 5, so not really fair in a few ways but interesting:
1) newest Y has several upgrades over what they have
2) their Y is a performance model that's obviously going to trounce the ioniq 5
3) they have FSD which makes their Y's price WAAAY higher than the ioniq 5.

having said that, one thing i'm glad they and others are pointing out is tesla's bogus range ('epa rating') claims and how everyone else's 'epa ratings' seem to be on or lower than what you actually get.

That doesn't surprise me. It is very cold where I live which probably has a lot to do with it but my range isn't close to what it's rated at. I also think it's kind of bogus to show a range number when you rarely charge the car to 100%. My car at 90% shows a range of 355 miles but it's not even close. It will be interesting once it gets warm to see what range I get. Then again my new wheels will be here in a few weeks and even though they are lighter, from other people's experience, it's going to make my range worse.

Generally good review....I watched most of it, although I didn't particularly like his somewhat condescending and flippant speaking-style. As I see it (and if it were my money), an almost complete no-brainer for the Ioniq5, unless one needs the Model Y's greater cargo room inside, or Tesla's more-widespread charging system.

The 2020 Ioniq is pretty amazing to drive, I can't imagine how much better the Ioniq 5 is, being built from the ground up as an EV
