The whole "EV transition" is a bunch of hot air, BMW has just recently announced they will continue developing ICEs including V8s. BMW could ignore EVs for decades to come, and they would still be just fine. BMW should be fore more concerned about the future when it comes to their styling trends.

however, more seriously, i have no doubt that tesla stole a LOT of sales away from bmw. remember bmw used to be the 'ultimate driving machine'? not any more.
I don’t think it’s fair or correct to say “luxury crown”. That is incorrect. But, they are charging quite expensive prices for the products. I think it would be fair to know what their average selling transaction is. That way you can compare it to other luxury brands.

Uh, no. BMW developed the modular CLAR platform specifically for EV, ICE, Diesel and Hybrid drivetrains. This is the platform for the i4.
In 2025 they will have a pure play EV platform.

LOL, no it won't indeed. Back to the Blackberry analogy talked about earlier, I remember our CEO of the company I worked for at the time refused to give his up, although iPhones and Androids had become the norm. I had to keep a Blackberry Enterprise Server running just for him at cost of $5K annually. It was only after I brought it to his attention that we were spending $5K a year just to support his Blackberry that he finally reluctantly moved to a Samsung Galaxy...this was 2012. Ever since he is stuck to the Galaxy Note. Change comes hard to some...

Agree on the first point, less so on the second. They finally wisened up and realized Tesla wasn't going anywhere but nothing about the future plans suggest they're terrified enough to work faster or harder than they already are. All the big luxury players will have an intact lineup of EVs in ~2025 in segments Tesla doesn't even play in. I think they're going to permanently control less of the market share pie that's for sure.

Actually BMW's Neue Klasse platform in 2025 will be "electric first" but still support ICE as needed.

As I mentioned in a previous post, the stock shot up yesterday and sellers sold off after making a profit. Mass sell offs cause a stock to drop. You have to look it from a long term stand point. The market is generally down all across the board, Apple which was almost $190 is around $158 as I'm typing this.

Tesla is priced around the same as other luxury lines line BMW, Audi
