I never really liked manuals, I got into this from a technical interest side of things and once I learned how much better the Autos are due to the stator and selective lockup abilities I started really wondering what the point of a stick is other than enjoyment......problem was once I tried one I really really liked it even though it's objectively works worse. Kinda sucks since now I really want a V10 manual car even if it's insanely impractical, I take a similar issue with EVs since while I am fully aware of the technical advantages they just do not speak to me at all.

I modify them to fall more inline with what makes me like them emotionally, I like to be attached to/excited by my cars

Lots of people are attached to and excited by their cars when they don't modify them, myself included.

I don't disagree but I tend to just be that way as a person, I always want to optimize something more to my tastes/make it "perfect" for what I will use it for. I am terrible with my guns for example, I have several one offs since the exact config I wanted didn't quite exist so I had some parts custom fabbed.....marginal gains for a part that is normally $100 instead of $450 but I really liked the felt impulse of a specific spring paired with a particular slide weight and to accommodate it I had to do a somewhat strange config. Most people would shrug and say it's not worth the 3% difference in recoil behavior and spring life span improvement, It just bothered me since I was used to these types of springs from another maker.

But thats you. You have to accept that the vast majority of people are not like you. Commenting on every EV discussion with your specific preferences as if it was a global issue with EVs is tiresome.

I was going to post something here but I'll PM it instead. In short I am free to post what I think just how you do when anyone tries to challenge your perceptions of what is better, it's the same thing.
