Ouch that hurt! I really think it’s just the refreshed Model S that is the issue. Plenty of people having similar and even worse issues than me so I feel somewhat fortunate compared to some. The problem is rejecting it now is that they don’t always put you to the front of the line so the wait could be a very long time. I’m so happy I bought mine when I did, only took about 6 weeks.

I think what you said is true, the first year has some issues that get ironed out over time. I can’t see the Model Y/3 having any issues.

I've been perusing the Model Y forums because I may just order one as I am not having any luck finding an Ioniq 5. The ones coming out seem to have the bugs ironed out...people really seem very happy with the overall quality now which wasn't the case last year. I think for Tesla, it takes them 2 years to iron out most of the bugs.

I took a closer look at the R1S Explorer, and it's really not that expensive for what you get, including Dual motors, 320 miles range, AWD and 600 hp

- Handling is not as good as say as my prior X3M
- There are way too many Tesla's now so no longer exclusive, if you're into that- Initial Quality is hit or miss (my MYP still has some window closing issues, but my MYLR has no problems)
- if you DONT have a L2 charger at home, Superchargers are getting filled up fast these days and costs more
- Tech is so so (I actually miss I drive lol)

I still like my MYs but look forward to some good competition especially from the Germans ....
I know it’s not comparable but the Plaid (and maybe the Model S LR?} doesn’t drop off after 100mph, it keeps pulling and that is even when the charge is low. Even when the charge is low it still runs 9’s pretty easily. I think Tesla figured out how to deal with the drop off after 100mph and wonder if it will trickle down to the other models.

As for iDrive, I personally feel it’s the best out there and very easy to use once you figure it out. I can change things much faster compared to a touch screen without fat fingering anything.

Honestly, I'd give the Plaid 10/10 back to back against a 800hp Supra on a drag. Repeated runs don't do anything to that car and still runs 9.4 in the 30% SoC range. 10 runs would probably run down 20% of that battery only too. It pretty much destroys any ICE under 1200hp repeatedly.

Almost impossible to buy any Rivian never mind that one. Order now and wait a few years.

Thank you. It was an uncle I haven't seen in more than 20 years. He's actually not an uncle but my dad's 2nd cousin, but in our culture we refer to them as uncle. As you know I was in SoCal the week before and the second day we got word he passed away, so it was unexpected. Actually a lot of people were asking me about my Polestar, so maybe it wouldn't have been so bad if I asked her about her Rivian....

That's very true, wait, and you probably won't get one for a few years

dual motors aren’t even scheduled to go into production until 2024. Quads only until then
