I saw the review from Redline and this thing has so MANY stupid gimmicks lol

Just opening the doors is an issue - you have to tap the “fake” door handle then open with the one on top. Back doors don’t even have a handle. Huge issue for kids or if you have something in your hands.

Then you have CHROME wheels.
Note to GM - chrome rims have not been in vogue since the early 2000s.

The luggage capacity is minimal.

The rear end “wagon” design looks hideous.

I predict this will sell very poorly.

Can't wait for the sticker shock once people realize $65K is only for the base model, and you'll need another $20-30K to make the car look like the ones being lent to journalists, just like the CT6. There is no way this SUV the size of the iX is going out the door for less than a loaded XT6. This is going to be the Rivian launch fiasco all over again.

Nice interior but that steering wheel is terrible. Way too many buttons and they are touch sensitive. No thanks, big reason don't think I could own a Plaid S.

They’re not chrome wheels. The finish is like polished metal, although a bit too polished.

Agree with the rest of your points though!

The ones lent to the press is the $63k trim. The only option you see are the $1,500 22” wheels.

I'll believe it when I see it in customer hands. Here's the first paragraph on the pre-order form:

If this is indeed $65K loaded, the entire Cadillac lineup will have to be re-priced.

there is a huge difference. The touch sensitive buttons seems to be for heated steering wheel, super cruise and phone calls....don't see the difference with a tesla model 3 where you would have to use a touchscreen to access all those features. Unlike the silly implementation of the model S with the horn and indicator being touch sensitive buttons.

Every manufacturer has this standard clause.

This $65k model will be the 'base' model. There will be higher trims available in the future, but the press received the base trim.

Sure they are.
Lets check in June of 2023 if that’s really the truth.

Cadillac is currently taking preorders for the 2024 model. Looks like spring of 2023 will be switchover from '23 to '24 so most likely they really are sold out of the 23's, as their production is just ramping up and it will probably take them over six months to get a steady stream of product out to the dealers.

For $60K this seems like it's best in class due to the fact that it's quiet, has leather seats, and doesn't redundantly remind you that you're driving an EV.

Marques is "impressed" with pretty much every car he drives and gets a lot of special perks because of how big of an influencer he is. He's like Supercar Blondie but for tech/smartphone bros.
