Default Tesla Plaid Review by Regular Car Reviews

This is to me one of the best reviews of the Plaid. No racing a supercar, in fact no races at all. Just a straight review. Although he can get a little philosophical. He reminds me of my 10th grade Biology teacher

Haha I watched that too. The "Boomer argument" was hilarious. "you and your stocks! SILVER! Invest in SILVER!" "What will happen when the world is destroyed and there is no electricity left? WHAT WILL YOU DO THEN?!??!" lol

I gotta admit...I kinda want a Plaid. One of the other managers at my company has one coming on order...

Oh yeah that just had me holding my stomach! I've literally talked to people saying almost those exact same words. I do everything in my power to keep a straight face....but now that I watched this, I don't know if I'm going to be able to

I couldn't buy a Plaid for the following reasons:

1) Spending over $100K on a car is just not in my DNA
2) A car this fast with this much power would lead to juvenile behavior
3) I would definitely race people every chance I got which leads to
4) I would probably end up with a boatload of speeding tickets

My Polestar makes me dizzy when I floor it, I can't imagine what it feels like flooring a Plaid

Me too.

I've never come across this channel. Made me laugh. I get as motivated about Tesla as I do a washing machine. They're everywhere here. But, I get it.

I'm pretty cheap. It took a lot for me to execute on the Polestar, which is just under $50K, if you don't count the tax and license . Plaid would be a pure impulse buy. Tesla's leasing is horrible, so this would be have to be a buy

LOL nope. Sometimes he just goes on and I skip through those. One time I was watching one of their reviews at the dining table (which is near our kitchen) and he started repeating something about ***** over and over, my wife was in the kitchen, my son was at the other end of the table...both started staring at me and I had to pause the video. My wife who is Indian started repeating repentances in her language LOL! Now I either watch his reviews when no one is around or I just put on my headphones....

Its all relative...I'm paying $63,000 to drive a car for 3.5 years and have to give it back at the end...however you slice it I'm paying an amount of money for a car that at one time I said I never would.

$100k isn't what it used to be, sadly.

The leasing isn't THAT terrible. A Model S non Plaid is about $1,900 a month (at a cost of about $120k) with $0 down. Thats a 36 month lease. A Plaid is $2,412 with an MSRP of $151,440. Those payments are roughly the same as a 72 month finance payment, if you can write a lease off for business it still may make sense.

For comparison, my S560 had an MSRP of $123,000 and I paid about $100k, my payment is $1,494 and its a 42 month lease, a 36 month lease would have been $1,650 or so.

An S580 with an MSRP of $150k is a $2,700-2,800 lease. When you consider that you pay for no fuel with the Plaid...

I actually do write my lease off to my LLC I use for "consulting". I would have to think long and hard about it. The answer would probably still be no, even with the write-off

With the write off Uncle Sam pays for 50% of the lease! Its the only way I can justify driving something this expensive, if I were just a salaried person no way I would spend this much on a car.

You also just flat out got a good deal and bought at the right time. Now the dealer markups are just barely keeping cars prices inline with general price increases. A 70k car back in 2010 is now a 130k car so yeah, 100k most certainly isn't what it used to be
