Lots of people use these vehicles for other purposes. So to claim 100% is wrong

Maybe 98%, close enough. Very few people buy a $100k SUV and take it off-road. The vast majority of them are used in a way that a car or minivan would serve just as well.

Saw another Rivian today. They look great IMO

How many people who have S-Class drive 240km/h in America? Or how many people are taking their sports car to the track?

Disagree. A mall cruiser to me would kill itself once actually off road. An actual capable SUV, I just wouldn't call it that.

Jill had a point, do you drive your Mercedes at 155MPH here on the highways? Your car would cruise at that speed all day and night long and never even come close to breaking a sweat. That's what it was designed to do, and I can only imagine the bliss of being able to do it.

We're all buying vehicles with capabilities we want, but don't need or actually use. The fact is most SUVs are driven by mothers who use them to ferry their kids around. Most S Classes are driven by old people who never go over 70 MPH. Most sports cars are never driven anywhere near hard enough to make use of any of their ability. Most people drive cars that in reality make very little sense for their needs and use.

Lots of buyers wants different things and have different needs. If you want a V8 and want something with space, or four doors you practically have to buy a body on frame pick up truck or large SUV. Otherwise you have to buy a luxury brand. Some people live in snow regions so 4WD is a must. If you have a travel trailer, you want a truck. Want lots of space, there are no full size sedans anymore. All that said, I’m pretty jaded and sad that Toyota doesn’t have one V8 in their lineup, and the only way to get full time 4WD is the limited trim 4R like mine. Over at Lexus they still have a V8 in the GX.

I bet you do use it every now and then. lol
Ever stomp on the gas to feel the engine roar? You just used some horse power!

Yeah, guilty as charged, I've owned heavy trucks that mostly got used for going to the store and back.
But in my defense, I always bought a boat or something to tow so I can justify having it around. lol

C&D posted their 40k review of the Sienna, and they said something that is so true. The only vehicle that consistently used the way it was designed to be used is a minivan. Think about it, they’re right.

I wonder if either one can cross this river. This would be a good test. 😬
