That was a joke. A lot of people don't like Elon but love Tesla products. I have no issues with him, but I can understand how he rubs some people wrong

The changeover in model years is typically near the middle of November. My Plaid is a 2022 that was built in 11/21 and people on the Model S forum have already confirmed that the 2023’s are rolling out already.
Confirmed it's a 2023 model!

By the way, Tesla is not taking any new Model 3 Long Range AWD orders now due to strong demand. Only RWD and Performance.
If you go to the order page, you can click on the "See limited inventory" button under the long range option. You'd be surprised that you can find new, available long range models for purchase immediately.

Hi, Sorry for the tone of my remark, Tesla does make a Good Car, but that being said, I will Never buy one, as long as Elon Musk is in charge. it's just My Opinion, but I have Very Strong Convictions on this Matter.
Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving.

Got to drive it this evening, drove it for about an hour on surface roads as well as freeway. @lexusnyca you were correct, no need for the dual motors unless you are looking to achieve under 4 second 0 to 60. The single motor Model 3 is enough for most drivers. It's plenty fast, save yourself the extra $10k.

I'll have access to the car again tomorrow, and I will review it over the weekend

Hey man, it's all good. I get it, he rubs a lot of people wrong. I respect people who stick to their convictions. You have a wonderful Thanks Giving as well!

Sure no one NEEDS the extra motor but it’s the same as any other car. One doesn’t need an M3 over an M340 but…

For most enthusiasts $10k is cheap and more than worth it for the performance model.

Absolutely true, but I guess what I was saying is most people wouldn't be disappointed by the base RWD model 3... unless you drive a Plaid lol! I was pleasantly surprised!

The reason people buy the Dual Motor is the range. Our Mid Range is plenty fast, as you point out. Tesla used to make a long range RWD. That's a killer combo.

That's true...272 to 315 miles. This would be the main reason for me, as it would be only one 20 minute stop when visiting my family in SoCal

That difference in range doesn’t seem like much to me. If they still offered the Performance Stealth model that would be a good one to get since you get the power of the performance model without the 20” wheels/summer tires, spoiler and brakes. I would buy the spoiler and brakes separately for less and get some nice lightweight aftermarket 19” wheels.

Musk is pretty much back to his old tactics. But I doubt this time it would work for twitter.

That sounds... painfully inconvenient.
