It just shows what an amazing company Tesla is. The potential savings to trucking companies not having to fuel and maintain fleets of trucks, which means savings for the consumer. I'm all in!

I think that would mean more profits for the trucking companies. People arent looking to save consumers anything cost of everything is going up.

One of my son's friends bought a 2016 Model S with nearly 150k on it for $45k and replaced the battery pack for $7500. Basically a $90k car for under $60k. The car now has another 200k of life. Clean title BTW

and cost of everything going up has many factors, making up for pandemic losses and economic surge 'after' the worst of it, with lagging supplies, increased wages as labor force shrinks (tons of people took early retirement or chose under employment), vast government printing of money and giving it away increasing national debt and interest payments, fed trying to 'tame' inflation by raising rates, etc, etc.
to get prices to go down or at least go up less, we will need increased supply, less demand, less government debt (ha!). increased competition, lower supply chain costs - of which this tesla semi could help with.

‘Just jack up the interest rates to 10% +. Prices fall

You are right. The profits will go to the trucking company. The cost to go green is very expensive. People will eventually end up paying more for EVs (already are) and to charge them as well compared to gas. Add mass means you add cost.

I'm just thankful you don't make decisions on new tech, otherwise we would still be catching iron horses burning coal

change is hard for most.
and one thing steve jobs was 100% right on, for an innovative company, market research is a complete waste of time, because consumers typically can only think in terms of small incremental improvements of what they already have.
steve jobs' "1000 sounds in my pocket" which lead to ipod, and later to an iphone driven by a touch screen changed everything.

Tesla Semi cuts energy cost 50-70%, and drastically reduces the need for brake work which is a huge expense on big rigs. Not to mention other fluid changes go away. Truckers will love driving it.

Not an Apple consumer, but I thank Steve Jobs for many of Apple's innovative ideas and products

You wish, loaded they get half that. Going up a moderate incline it drops to about 3mpg and you get none of it back going back down unlike the Tesla Semi. Eventually truck stops are going to be so much cleaner I feel bad for people breathing in diesel particulates all the time.

Yeah you are quoting the cheapest aftermarket battery out there with 210 miles of range. If you want more it’s going to cost you over $10k and if you want a new battery from Tesla it’s going to be around $18k-$20k. Another reputable aftermarket vendor is around the same price but can give you a core discount if your battery isn’t dead but if it is dead, you’re looking at close to Tesla prices.
