That's pathetic...

I think Polestar hasn't quite figured out how to separate itself from Volvo yet. The P2 looks quite good but was literally based on a Volvo concept right down to the Thor's hammer headlamps. The vehicles since were supposedly fresh sheet design but there's no features on them that really stand out compared to a Chinese EV like an Xpeng or Nio.

The Volvo DNA is not going away anytime soon. Polestar 2 is basically a Volvo with a chassis that's tuned to be more sporty. As far as looks, I really like the way the P4 looks...at least the concept. I'm fine with it, I'm just hoping pricing won't be it's downfall

Took the Polestar for it's 8th trip to SoCal. This will probably be it's last long distance trip, once the Y arrives it will be the official trip car! I love driving the Polestar, but hate dealing with Electrify America, where half of their Brand new chargers are offline at any given time....

Just spent the last week in SoCal, my father who is 86 years old is recovering in a skilled nursing facility where he is receiving physical therapy. The closest one to my younger brothers house that had an open bed is located in Riverside, CA. How do I describe Riverside? Well, if Walter White was real, a lot of his "product" would have ended up here. It's the home of Giant trucks, Mustangs and Chargers, as well as modded Civics with Muffler/resonator/CAT deletes lowered to the point it's just barely above ground. Backyards are where you store junk cars

Besides Tesla's, I didn't see another electric car. When I drove through there everyday, I got all kinds of stares. I was like a foreigner in a strange land as people drove besides me pretending not to stare as they tried to figure out what kind of car I was driving. If I wanted to charge, the nearest charging station was 10 miles outside of Riverside, because I suspect it would just get vandalized, ICE'd, or just never used...

I normally don't write about this kind of stuff, but this was a bit of a head scratcher. I'm on my way to work, and I had to quickly change lanes before the next light to make a turn. A guy in a White Mercedes C300 Coupe is next to me and when he saw how fast I accelerated, I guess it hit his mind that there was no way my Polestar can "beat him". This guy did everything in his power to keep up with me. Most people give up after the second try. This guy was determined to the point I don't think I've seen yet. Anyway, he was not even remotely a match for me, and when hit the left turn, he shot by me easily going 70 to 80 mph. I just feel bad on how much gas he wasted....

Not the greatest news for Polestar. Sold off all my Polestar holdings and put them in Tesla

Polestar to cut 10% of workforce as delays push upcoming SUV to 2024

KEY POINTS
  • Polestar trimmed its full-year production guidance, saying that its upcoming Polestar 3 SUV will be delayed until 2024.
  • The Swedish EV maker said its net loss narrowed dramatically compared with a year ago.
  • Polestar also said it will cut about 10% of its workforce.

PSNY is down over 10% on the news. Yahoo finance major league soft balled the headline

Polestar reports results for first quarter of 2023 and intensifies cost management

Now that's what I call spin.

Oh yeah LOL . Also the Volvo version is also delayed until 2024, they are citing software development issues (same as Polestar)

After about two weeks of driving the Model Y, I took the Polestar out today to head to the office. Yes it's Sunday. But as I've mentioned many times, I'm in IT, security, patches and updates don't care if it's the weekend. Anyway it was nice taking it out, it just got a major software update that further optimizes throttle response, efficiency and updates for Apple CarPlay users including being able to display Apple maps in both the dash and the infotainment screens. I don't own an iPhone, so I can care less

The Polestar compliments my Y perfectly. The Polestar is fun and sporty while still being efficient. The Y is fun, but wouldn't call it sporty. It's a great family hauler that is also very efficient, roomy and comfortable and can still haul ***!

When my first service comes up in 20K miles (I'm at almost 17K), I'm going to have the Polestar's battery pack fully inspected. If' it's degraded at the levels Polestar says it will (1 to 2 percent per year), than I will probably just buy it out at the end of the lease. If it's more than 3 or 4 percent per year, than I'll be returning it after it's lease ends

Polestar released their latest software update, P2.9, which improves efficiency and performance, and did it! My previous 0 to 60 was 4.1 seconds. Yesterday I did some launches (completely deserted road), and now I'm hitting 3.7 seconds:

I think all they did was tweak throttle mappings, as you can feel the difference from the pervious software. Damn!

Impressive 0-60 for that little car, you might get a little more range too (I think).

I have to do some logging to verify, but just from recent driving, it seems that I am getting improved range. Today did a 55 mile round trip, average speed was 75 mph and I only used 21 percent available battery. It was a warm day so AC was blasting as well

Future doesn't look bright right now. Although they are more popular in Europe than North America because of their Volvo heritage. I think the next few quarters will give us a bigger picture. They sold 51,000 vehicles worldwide last year, they either have increase that number or at least match it. They orgionally projected 80,000 by Q4, but than revised that to 60,000. Also, they delayed the Polestar 3 until 2024. Not good signs. That and their stock has been going nowhere
