I wanted to take the Polestar out today, after not driving it for a couple of months. My son and I took it to a car wash I use, which was empty today due to the holiday. Now it's nice and clean

On the way back from the car wash, we found ourselves behind a Golf R. I guess the guy thought it was fast, but I can, without going into details tell you it's absolutely no match for the Polestar. Absolutely. As my son was highly amused, I had to sternly warn him that if I catch him doing anything like this, he'll lose access to the car. I actually did it without smiling 🤣

Wife texted me a list to pick up some stuff from the store, so I decided to take the Polestar. our local Safeway has brand new 350 kW EA chargers, so I hooked up and went into the store. I have two years free charging from Hyundai (one year left from Polestar as well), but I was surprised to see how much EA has raised their per kWh prices

They are priced higher than Tesla's superchargers. The most I've paid this year is 0.44 cents per kWh, average I've paid over the year is 0.33 cents per kWh. Kind of surprising, I would be reluctant to use EA chargers if I didn't have the two years free

EDIT

This is the Guest rate. If you become a Pass+ Member than it's $7 a month and 25 percent off the Guest rate. EA has now changed their pricing model, which is "location based"

A nail ended up in the tire, we are headed out of town today (taking the Model Y) and my son needs the car on Monday, so took it to my mechanic to patch it up

My mechanic told me that I should consider changing the tires in the next couple of months, The Polestar now has a little over 27,000 on it, and these are Michelin Pilot summer tires, they lasted longer than I expected!

I'll probably pickup Continental ProContacts, I've had pretty good luck with Continentals, although these Michelins have been pretty solid

Those tires are a victim of shall we say spirited driving. I'm the luckiest person alive never had a flat, never carry a spare in any of my cars.

27K for an EV is not too bad! I need to do a rotation on the Rivian soon. Recommendation is 6K and I'm at 8.

You can't rotate tires on the P2... they use different rims sizes for the front and back. They are not staggered btw. 41 psi in the front, 42 psi for rears

It's probably more for handling. The car tends to oversteer in corners

My Plaid tires lasted 30k miles, can't complain about that except they aren't cheap tires.

For every 10°F of temperature change your tire changes 1 psi. Better check those tires often!

Though I can't say I've never had a flat, none of my cars even have the capability of carrying a spare (other than in the trunk/hatch area). I do have portable compressors in each car, and in a pinch if at home I could swap a bad flat for the opposite season wheel/tire until I could get it repaired, not worried at all.

@AMIRZA786 27k of hard miles is not bad for Pilot Sports, especially in a heavy EV.

None of my car's have spares either, except for my Sienna. Luckily we have mobile repair that will repair your tire on the side of the road if it can be repaired and will replace a damaged tire if they have your size
