Quick story on this. We had a CEO from one of our start-ups who had either a 2017 or 2018 Model S. One day I came to the office, and I could see water leaking from the bottom of his S, and there was a slight noise coming from the car. I went to his office and let him know, and he laughed. He said the screen went out, and the AC was running, keeping the cabin at 65 F, 24 x 7, and he couldn't turn it off as at that time there was no climate controls in the app. He was waiting for the screen to come in so they could change it. At that time there was some issue with NVRAM that was causing the screen failures.

It would definitely be annoying if the screen ever fails, but thankfully they have now put a lot of the controls in the app

If they offer good leasing options, may look into this next year to replace the P2....
I think it might be better to wait until 2025 when they add NACS and build it in South Korea to avoid the Chinese import tariffs.

My current Polestar's lease isn't up until 2025, so I'm not in the market until then

As of today, I am officially back to commuting with the Polestar, and my son is now driving the Y. I need to take it for a wash, between his school and his job, he hasn't washed it in months. Of course the Y is still the trip/family car

This is actually hilarious. I took the Polestar to the car wash, as it's covered in bird s h i t. While in the car wash, and in the middle of the wash cycle I may add, one of the brushes triggered the trunk's "Kick Sensor", causing the rear hatch to open . I caught it, and was able to use the button on the dash to close it, but not before some water got into the trunk. Luckily I have a protective rubber mat in the trunk, so I was able to clean out most of it. I was wondering how the heck this could happen, I was in the drivers seat and the doors were locked, so I asked some of my fellow Polestar owners in the P2 forum, and got this answer back:

Damn, had I read the owners manual from beginning to end, I would have skipped the Kick sensor installation. I'm hoping there is a way to disable it without turning to a hammer 🤣

Yes, it has rolling brushes, but they are supposed to be extremely soft and safe for all paint types. I've actually taken the Polestar there several times, I guess one of the brushes set off the sensor this time

Other than the little mishap with the tailgate, she's nice and clean and ready to take on some V8's
