Just signed up for a test drive, won't be available until November
At the current pricing, no way this is going to sell in volume. Model Y is a volume car, Model 3 is a volume car. I don't know what Polestar is thinking

I really like the P4, but I don't like it's price. The spec I would want is $20k more than the Model 3P. I definitely would like to do a test drive, I'll probably book one if I get some free time.
As far as the seating position, you also sit up much higher in the P2. I'm not very tall, and I have to drop the seat all the way down or I hit my head going in and out. Whenever my wife or daughter drive it, they raise the seat and I end up hitting my head on the roof. If I was tall, this would not be a good car to own

The problem is that the i5 and Model S are not huge sellers so I have no idea why Polestar is seemingly hedging all its bets on this vehicle. It is absolutely not a replacement for the P2. They need something like an XC40 Recharge-sized crossover.
The other issue with this car is that its existence effectively kills any relevance the Polestar 5 could possibly have.

Yeah, it's definitely not a M3P competitor, it's priced basically exactly the same as a BMW i5. But to be fair, it is a lot bigger than an Model 3 inside and out. I think it makes sense to see this more as a Model S competitor, and that's also where it's priced at.

I agree that it is more a Model S competitor, but like you said, neither the i5 or Model S are high volume cars, and based on what the sales person told you, if this is their answer for volume sales, they have either miscalculated pretty badly, or know something we don't
What's rather ironic is that the P2 looks way more crossover-like than the P4 even though it was advertised as a sedan.

The marketing department is working overtime to convince people that the P4 is a crossover. No wonder they don't have the P2 in the showroom anymore because that would destroy the illusion.

I'm just curious, does it still have the "hump" in the back seat area or is it a completely flat floor?

EDIT: No wait I misremembered - the flat floor was on the P3. P4 still has a transmission tunnel hump. Have no idea why since it's a bespoke EV platform.

Flat floor, and it's very wide too. But the center console with the AC controls juts out backward and eats up most of the space so it's not all that useful.

Yeah, doesn't make sense that it's a dedicated EV platform with a transmission tunnel. Center console folds into the seat? If that's the case then you could just tuck it away

I meant the driver's center console with the HVAC controls which intrudes into the rear passenger space.
