charging an ev in below freezing weather
yeah i'd love to spend half an hour charging a car at 18F (-8c). plus constant line up of cars waiting to charge.
in more positive news, the ioniq 5 does quite well.

EVs, right now, are best suited as sunbelt cars if you want everyday use. Unless you have a heated garage. I know if I had one here in NY, it's use would be limited in the very cold part of the winter. Ad if I lived in Maine or Vermont, forget it. Not sure how Canadians live with them year round.

The video reflects what can happen if you have to fast charge in very cold weather. But in accepting that real-world scenario, you must also accept that plugging in at home and waking up to a fully charged car with both the battery and the cabin preheated and preconditioned at the time you choose is also a real world scenario.

I don't do well in cold weather so I'd never make it up there.

I have no idea what freezing weather is. This is the closest to freezing I've ever seen
That said, I talk to my European and Polestar counterparts in Freezing parts of the country and world, and they have no issues with charging. Fast charging is mainly done when you are travelling long distances (trips). Also you would pre-condition your battery while heading to a fast charger to optimize charging. Does colder weather affect charging and range? I'm not going to deny that it doesn't. I can tell you one thing, talk to those people in freezing parts of the world and most will tell you they are still happy with their decisions to switch to EV

These are for Lex2k and Striker, I'm 5 miles from the beach and no stock photo this time I promise.
My palm tree, to send some smiles and cheer.
Grew it from a coconut.
My front porch thermometer right now.
Perfect for EV batteries for peeps who like EV's

For EV owners, Florida weather would serve them well.

Gorgeous view! Your weather is similar to Southern California weather, minus the humidity, and tropical storms LOL. I think it dips down to the 60's, but can get into the 80's and 90's in the winter if a Santa Ana wind condition occurs (the wind heats up as it blows down the mountains)
