Hey everyone!

After over 1,000 posts, I FINALLY got a Lexus of my own (I must hold some kind of record for posts by non-Lexus driver )...my dream car at that. Unfortunately, I quickly discovered I have the low-idle problem and today the engine finally cut on me.

I was wondering if anyone can recommend me where to take my new-to-me GS400 in for a low-idle/throttle body cleaning. I can't do it myself becauase I am in medical school and the phrase "no time" is a gross understatement. Does anyone have a good independent mechanic they go to or should I do the dealer? And if dealer, would you suggest JM or Pembroke Pines? I live in Broward (Davie). Thanks and really lookin forward to meeting some of you!

Welcome to CL.. i would try to give lexforlife a PM since he lives in Pembroke Pines.. He may even offer to help you out... thats just the kind of guy he is.. The last resort would be a dealer.. You know they will charge an arm and a leg..LOL

The low idle is very common for our GS4's. I had a very low idle...so I put in some injector cleaner just to see what would happen and to my surprise it helped out alot. I also adjusted my thottle cable which took me about 20 minutes.

I still have a low idle but it is not as bad as before!
