I am flying in for Memorial day weekend and was wondering where I should stay. I know there is a nice bar scene I am just not sure where that is located. Also what beach should we go to.

marriot harbor beach is a great hotel, go to ft laud beach, anything south of commerical blvd is prime

A1A and Las Olas is the hot spot for sure for beach during the day.

The bar scene depends on what youre into. There is:
las olas blvd. and riverfront in downtown ft. lauderdale
beach place on the beach (near marriot)
or the best place to go right now is the seminole hard rock in hollywood. its about 15 min from the beach.

Is there still a place along the beach called the Elbow room?
And What about the Howard Johnson right on the beach? Is that still there ?
