Lowered 2nd gen GS300/400 in Gainesville, FL - Please Read!
Hello all
I am a mod over at supraforums.com and have been a long time toyota/lexus enthusiast. I'm about to lower my 2000 platinum series GS300 with my new 19s and I really was hoping to ride in a similar setup before pulling the trigger.
Any lowered GS owners in Gville mind taking me for a ride and explaining their rationale for their setup? I am most strongly leaning toward Tanabe NF210 versus DF210 on KYB GR-2 shocks. I did consider coilovers, Espiler springs, and Bilstein shocks in the mix as well.
Thank you in advance!

It's because Gainesville sucks! LOL Naturally I go to FSU so I have to say that. I'm driving a lowered GS300 on eibach springs. If your making your way up to Tally anytime soon, I wouldn't mind giving you a ride around town.

Thank you for the offer Since I'm in med school here, I don't get out much I have seen several (one silver parked over near campus, one black just driving around on university, etc). lowered GS's, which I guess are either not on the board or haven't seen this thread.
Thank you again for the offer...anyone local? Bueller?

Well, in truth, I don't need coilovers for performance gains nor extreme lowering. I'm a parts dealer, so I typically purchase a wholesale and I can get the S/S combo so much cheaper than coilovers that I'm going to go that route. The one coilovers I can get cheap is K-Sport, though I've heard they are really stiff - so I don't want to head that route.
Thanks for the post. Where's the Gainesville GS's at?!

Cool, when will you have them installed? Will you be around Gainesville?
I am a Tanabe dealer too, so I'm def at least considering the Tanabe setup.

Personally, id run the NFs and KYBs. My bro had the same setup on his 98 GS300 and it pretty much rode like stock but much firmer. IMO, if you're not tracking the car or need the height/ride adjustments dont bother with a coilover. I've got plenty of other things to spend the money on.

Although i am in jax, I was working in gainesville for a few months and actually ordered my Tanabe NF210's from an authorized dealer for tananbe...its a little shop i believe past the oaks shop mall immediately on the left after you go under the overpass...its next to a repair shop. i didn't really want them messing with my car but i did just order the tanabe's from them and then had 5th Gear in Jax install them.
