How good of a deal is it? I think getting a w58 tranny is a waste of time and money. Once you boost that car you will be looking to upgrade that tranny to the R154. I would advise you just buy the 1j or 2j if you can afford it and then save up for the good tran. Also what are your power goals.

^^^ Pretty good deal...paying 8xx for the complete swap but i decided to get the clutch master cylinder,brack master cylinder,pedal assembly,driveshaft,hard lines,center console,shiftknob and boot and jus leave the W58...
ima just get the 1j auto and when im tired of that all i gotta do is get a R154 and i already will have everything else

there is a whole 95 sc that was in a roll over accident 5-speed for only 1800 on autotrader its got a full interior good engine and even the tail lights and rear end is good so i mean you will be able to get the swap parts needed for a future 5-speed conversion they will always be out there and remember your gonna go manual but ur car will still be the same slow just boost it first see what power you want then work on your drive train
