Default How Do I Get Cigarette Lighter To Be Always On?

Hi all,

As per title, I am trying to get live power from the cigarette lighter when my car is switched off. Currently, I have to turn-on the ignition to get power. Is there a fuse or something I have to re-position or replace? My car is a 1993-97 Toyota Corolla model.

Thank you.

Would that work?

I'm not too familiar with car electronics, could you guide me through on this, please?

Thanks so much.

If I understand correctly, the ignition fuse might be located in the fuse box (under the bonnet or under the drivers side dash)? These ones are the small blue and yellow coloured fuses, but I'm not sure if the ignition fuse is among them....

I am installing an in-car camera and I would like it to record when the car is parked up. Someone damaged my car while it was parked. They drove off.

only if something is completing the circuit drawing power. Many Ford cars have a powered outlet all the time.

Yeah the camera will drain the battery if left over night.

Jermaine, does your AC work while your cigarette lighter doesn't? Because usually they are linked on our cars. The fuse is in the kick panel. Unless it's not plugged into the harness behind the lighter.
