Melbourne is much slower in general then SFL, really depends what your into.
I was born and raised in Melbourne Beach, in general there is nothing to do except...
Surf / Fish / Something on the water
Drink a bunch at some ****ty bar
Work on your car / drive around aimlessly (Not really any great roads either)
If you are 30-40 and have a family, and a 40-50 hour a week job and some hobbies its alright if your making money, Orlando is an hour or hour and a half drive if you want a few more things to do, or Miami is 3 hours straight down i95.
And as far as spacecoast meets, their used to be BrevardMotorsports.org meets, but I dont think many people do much anymore, except maybe go drinking or go to a coffee shop and chill.

Yea, it really depends what you want to do and what point you are in your life.
I spent some time in Miami about 2 years ago in overtown/design district and the gables, theres definitely much more to do in Miami, nightlife, cultural stuff, shows, etc, but it is a bit more hectic.
Melbourne is good if you want to just sit back and relax, just very limited options for entertainment IMO.
You can find a lot more house for the money in Melbourne than Miami though, if you are planning to move.
There are some nice clean/modified cars roaming around Melbourne/Palm Bay/surrounding area, but now a days I feel like all the guys who have nice cars and know what they are talking about generally keep to themselves.
Grip Industries is in Melbourne and they have put together quite a few nice SC's, GS's, Cressidas, etc.

So far a total of two people interested in this (including myself). I think a meet at Port Canaveral might be fun. I've only been here a few months, but it seems like there are a lot of good spots around here for a meet. Hopefully we can get some more people interested in something like that.

My work schedule is all over the place week to week but so far I have Mondays and Tuesdays off no telling when that will change and the Port is only about a 30min drive from me I'm in Titusville so that could be a good spot

I'm in now - not much of a Meet guy, I do Meet people all the time - At Autocross Events, and at the Drag Strip, now once this thing gets ironed out and tagged, at CFRC for drifting events if my wallet can stand it.
It's in one piece now, but i'm goign to plasticoat it - so will be tagged and running around on 16psi on stock VVTI turbo with the Auto and I'll be getting rid of the bugs to start upping the power
I'll meet while i'm still in the working the bugs out stage, then I'll be all about the track once it's dialed in
I'm Right by Wickam Park in Melbourne.
