Default Help with 2007 IS250

I know we have an IS section.but i need help fast and i know my CLFL people check the forums daily.
I have a customer's 2007 IS250 at the shop with 68,917 miles.the fuel pump relpy went out so i replaced it.now the car starts.but when it sits for more then 2 hours or overnight.at start up it takes long to start.but once it starts.you shut it off.start it back up quick it starts everytime.I was thinking that maybe the fuel pressure regulator that is in the gas tank on fuel pump is no good.(and yes the driver runs low gas levels with gas light on)

fuel pressure regulator could be gone...also on the "on position" listen to see if you hear the fuel pump kick in and if it sound normal.
Was this a constant issue or just started happening

on the "on positon" without putting foot on brake.you do hear the fuel pump kick on for seconds and shut of.but sometime its crazy loud, others its a hisss sound.this issue just started.the customer came to the pump to pump gas on empty!then right at the pump with half a tank it didn't start.till i did some troubleshooting and the fuel pump relay was shot.swapped out for new one then car starts.just now it has that delay after sitting for more then two hours or overnight.

Did it send off any check system or check engine lights? he should still have the powertrain warranty, have him bring it in and see if they can duplicate the issue...because that seems strange because if the relay is good then I believe the regulator is not sending the fuel up to the top

no check engine.and system check ok.i'm going to call the dealer on monday with the vin number and check for any recalls.that's what i think that the regulator is not holding pressure.thank you for your input.

Well got the problem fixed.it seem like the pump in the tank had a short.and didn't work all the time.it also would mess with the fuel pump relay.the car would only start when it wanted to.i swapped out the fuel pump.problem solved!!
