I don't know anything about this specific projector, but here are some details courtesy of www.projectorcentral.com This projector is manufactured by Sanyo as the PLC-XT16. This projector is also marketed as Boxlight MP-56t

A small writeup
http://www.wedgwood-group.com/eiki_l..._projector.htm

I'm thinking this was more designed for a computer display vs movie due to the light info I'm finding about it. Doesn't mean it won't show movies just fine though

Here's a good glossary for all the terms
http://www.projectorcentral.com/glossary.cfm

Lumens on this one is extremely bright compared to other LCDs I've seen, but that may be because of the purpose of projecting presentations in a large auditorium. The good is that it should be a very well lit pictures, bright colors... at that level of lumens you should even be able to show in a not totally dark room. BUT the black colors and grays will look much more washed out.
