I purchased this to record some local bands but the two bands I wanted to record broke up, so I never got to use it. I tested it once at Pismo beach for about 5 min to test it out and it worked great. By what I have read, this is one of the top ones made. Here is what I got, its a bunch of stuff.

Does it have noise sensing to auto on?

I have wanted something like this.

 

I dont remeber, its been a while since I read it. Here is a link to a site that has a bunch of info, and also links to the manual and also links to show you how to chance the eepromms values to add more features. I think this site has most of the info you would want to know.

minidisk info

By what I can see it will record in stereo on a MDW-80 disk --- 360min. I found that on page 75 of the manual. Its on the site. You can get way more if you trasfer from your computer to the minidisk recorder. This minidisk is sapose to be special since it does have the usb connection for your computer to load a disk, along with line and mic inputs. Check out the site.


If you wish to record live, I do have a new (used once to test) sony condenser mic that is awesome for this minidisk. It retail for about $75, but ill Throw it in for an xtra $35. Its only about 2.5" wide and records in full stereo. Perfect for recording unnoticed.

Actually, I think it does have the noise sensing. I scanned the manual and it talks about you can set it to start recording when it picks up the source of recording. I rember something about this because I thought it would be cool to use, but in the clubs where the local bands played would have been too noisy all the time to work for me. It does have a setting to set to record and you just tap a button. If you want i had included the link to the site with the info and manual in a previous post.
